Check your gas cap , u need replacement of gas cap and if that don't work u need to do smoke test on your evaporated system but first change the cap.

Check your spark plugs and distributor.

You can bypass the ac compressor by using a 82" belt. Feed the belt from the back of the engine at the water pump. Disconnect the power steering line at pump. It's a lot easier if you use some type of hook to hold/maneuver the belt. (I used a bent rebar) Follow this routing diagram I created. Bam! No more ac problems!

It is buried under fuel hoses and vacuum lines follow top radiator hose to engine under fuel line between air cleaner box and head

Mark it's position before removing it. This will help greatly to line it back up if it is adjustable.

I Have similar problems in mine. At engine idle it sounds like the engine has "hiccups" and when accelerated i lose power and sounds boggy or like the engine is choking. i ran tests and it is caused by failire of the oxygen or O2 censor. If you look at the very front of the engine at the exhaust manifold where the exhaust system starts there will be 2 plugs on the right side of the manifold and the bottom one is the o2 censor.
