the car doesnt pick up speed when put in gear and doesnt always go into gear there is a delay when put in reverse,if i turn off the engine and wait a bit then works fine for a few minutes

dear friend-the fact that your vehcl does not pick up speed tells me that it is slipping,there is a pressure lost in the gear box,you have to remove and rebuild as the clutches will be burnt.
