Transmission swap Will a transmission out of a 1998 voyager 3.8L interchange with same van with 3.3L Both transmissions are a 41TE. Where can a person obtain an electrical schematic for a 1998 and a 2000 caravan with a transmission number 41TE?

The reverse plates in the transmission are burned up. There's a coating on the plates that cause them to catch on each other and the gears to function correctly. In your case for some reason the coating has come off and the plates are slipping causing the squeal.

If the Eagle is 2 wheel drive try to determine if it has a 41te or 42te transmission. These can be interchanged by a knowledgeable mechanic assuming your vehicle is compatible. Many times these transmissions are referred to as a 604 or 606 respectively. The weak link in the 604 is it's output shaft splines.

Since your Voyager has the 3.3L V6, that means it has the 41TE, 4 speed auto ******. It requires ATF+4 transmission fluid.

do you know what type of auto transmission is in it?
Is it the 41te which is electronicaly controlled or the 31th transmission manual type?

Engine oil for cold climates 5w-30. Warmer climates 10w-30. Any Auto-zone parts store person at the counter would be more than helpful choosing the correct fluids for your vehicle.

Provided that your truck is 2WD and not 4WD, it looks like it will work. Check the length of both and make sure they match, the 2WD is longer than the one in the 4WD's and it dosent look like they can be interchanged without tearig into the casing and swapping parts.

Also check the bolt patterns on both, as some earlier versions of that transmission are 4 bolt instead of 6 bolt.

As far as the flywheel goes, you'll probably be ok with yours, I really cant answer that unfortunately.

Call a junk yard and ask them for an interchange on your transmission. Most likely any Chrysler product with the same body style and engine size, in the same late 90s years will be a match.

If you put the transmission in neutral, there are two notches on the switch that will line up to adjust the switch correctly.
