If there isn't enough pressure, the vehicle wont run. Check for adequate pressure using a gauge.

SOURCE: 1995 Ford Probe sputtering, dying. Won't start now.

to make sure the fuel pump is operating get in a quite place get in vehicle and turn ignition switch on position you should hear alittle buzz for about 2 seconds try this several times if no buzz is heard then the fuel pump is not running. check fuel pump relay in power box by switching relay with one of same type thare should be one of same type in the box if not then purchase one and try it. If the pump is ok then you know you have a firing problem. check to see if you have spark by taking one of the spark plugs out then hook spark plug wire to it lay it on engine and look for spark while someone turns the ignition switch as if trying to start car

SOURCE: Power to fuel pump on 91 ford mustang cobra 5.0

The ignition module sends a "pip" signal to turn on the fuel pump and keep it running. If the signal is lost, or not present you get no pump. This is a safety in case of accident or other hazard in order to shut off the fuel so it wont keep pumping into a car with the key still on but engine disabled for some reason. Take the module to your local parts store and have it tested, for free to check.

SOURCE: where is the fuel pump o a 1990 ford thunderbird

The starter SOLENOID is on the starter motor. The starter RELAY is located on the left fender apron just behind the battery. (The positive (+) battery cable connects to it)

My 1988 t-bird will not start. electric fuel pump is working and has spark. it is a 5.0 EFI.fuel comes from the bleeder valve as I try to start it but will not start. can spray starter fluid into intake...

Does the fuel spray out of bleeder or run out. Should spray out with a lot of pressure. Have you checked fuel filter? If its not spraying out good and not the filter i would replace the pump.

I have a '95 Thunderbird Lx with a 4.6 L V8 that will sometimes turn over but will not start. It used to be a rare occurance and would eventually start after waiting awhile (sometimes an hour or so)...

i had the same kind of problem and if you pull the spark plug wires you'll see big black holds that the spark is going to the side of engine instead of going to plug. Change wires!

1966 Mustang I6 starting problem

Sounds like the fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or a stuck needle and seat in the carburator.

I have a 1995 Dodge caravan, it turns over but

fuel filter, fuel pump sonds like it is not getting fuel. Because when you spray starter fluid in it, it started and ran on what little bit of starter fluid you sprayed it with.

Fuel problem, wont start

the pump is part of the filter/separator not in the tank no fuel will come out if filter is removed make sure there is fuel in the upper filter if there is the pump is ok it might be an oil pressure concern

Have spark,no fire, sprayed starter fluid into throtle body but does not start

Turn key forward listen for the fuel pump to pressurize if you don't here anything then your fuel pump needs replaced and it's in the tank.
