I have a 2001 Nissan maxima gle 3.0 and my battery light is staying on I checked the positive and the the vehicle stays running what could be a few more reasons why it would stay on

It could be a bad alternator. Start the car, then try disconnecting the positive battery cable to the battery after the car is running. If it stays running, the alternator is good. If the car dies, alternator no good.

Nissan Maxima wont start

Two relays must close. One for security system and one for neutral safety. Check both circuits. Is there a security light flashing?

2001 maxima wont start after changing crank and cam sensors

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

2001 nissian maxima se low idle

adjust the idling, if too low then it can't sustain the power needed to keep the engine running when it engages.

I have a 2001 nissian maxima gle and the starter needs to be replaced where is it located and does anyone have a pic to show me as looked and i couldn't find it ?

If it is the one I'm thinking of-look right on top of the transaxle. like under air cleaner. might have to remove a few simple things to see. It is inserted in the bell housing facing the passengerside of the car. Hope I helped. Thanks

that sounds like you may need to replace the starter. the click you hear is the solenoid. the part that is just as important is the starter motor. unfortunately they are sold as one
