Brake lights wont work on 1996 buick regal. Fuses are good. Replaced brake switch. All lights and blinkers work except when I apply the brakes.

Check the switch at the brake pedal to be sure it's working properly.

Light gets power from brake light switch/.May be switch got shorted an brake light getting non-stop power causing it not to turn OFF brake light.

Get the brake light switch checked. Check volt at brake light switch.

It can be faulty brake light switch causing the problem or its wiring short for switch.

It can be faulty brake light switch causing the problem or its blown brake light bulb.First check and confirm brake light lamp is working and that's not the case.

It can be loose wiring or issue with bulb or the battery is weak or brake light socket getting short somewhere.Car lights getting dim,there are many such common issues noticed.I will share some familiar help links,related to your problem.

if your fuse is good. and you have power at the brake light switch and when you hit the brakes you have power coming out the otherside of brake light switch/which would be the white wire/ check that the white wire is sending power up the turn signal switch. if theres power there and your turnsignals work? im afraid that your turnsignal switch is bad rare but it has been known to happen.

it is a problem with the multi unit switch. (turn signal switch) It is a 50 dollar part, and involves removing most of the steering column.

the brake pedal has a brake light switch mounted on the same bracket. Replace that switch

try replacing the switch located on the brake pedal under the dash follow the pedal shaft up until you see it

Check for leaks in the brake lines and calipers or brake cylinders. If leaking have it repaired right away its not safe. Change the brake fluid, take the old fluid out add new fluid or have it professionally done.

Check the BULB socket to see if it has 12 volts when the brake is applied, test the ground at the socket as well, use a 12 volt test lite from Kragen or a store like it.
