Once you pop off the plastic cover on the mirror (that matches your car color) everything is accessible.

some auto glass shops can replace the mirror glass only without having to change the the entire mirror assembly.worth checking out.

Part suplier should have included instructions.

Go to local auto glass shop or auto supply store. Order a new mirror (not expensive). Ask also for the proper adhesive.

Put on some thick gloves (use pliers if needed) and remove the old glass.
Remove old adhesive from the mirror frame.
Apply adhesive to frame
Put new part in place and hold for a few seconds (read adhesive instructions).

That is it.

do you mean the glass or the entire mirror?

If it's the entire mirror then remove the door panel by popping off the interior pull handle cover. If you get down and look at the bottom of the rectangular pull handle you will see a seam. Pry the cover off with a small screw driver. Remove the two torx bit screws behind the cover. there is also a cover in the door handle pull pocket. Just pry up the cover and It will have a T25 torx bit under it.
Next around the door there are several push pin clips, push in on the center of the pin and pull the clip out.

Lastly the trim ring around the interior handle.. honestly you can use a 90 degree pick to pry it off, but usually I just pull up on the door panel until it pops off. ie. pull the bottom of the panel up towards the inside of the car.

That should be all the clips and screws, now pull straight up while holding the bottom of the panel out a little to clear the panel from the interior handle. you'll see that the top of the panel rides in the rubber seal on the door frame, it will be somewhat hard to separate, so don't break the panel.

Now the switches can be disconnected or just let the panel hang.

Now you'll see a 13mm nut that holds the mirror on and one electrical connector. remove and pull the mirror housing off. Reassemble in reverse order.


If it is just the glass then you just did a whole lot of reading for nothing.....
If it's just the glass don't do any of the above, Just push the glass in at the inside edge, like your adjusting the mirror to look back into the car. Push your fingers behind the glass and pull the glass sideways toward the outside of the car and back. it should pop off without to much effort. Now the motor will ratchet outwards when you pull the glass and the rear edge will release.

Place the new glass on the motor and reverse the procedure to reinstall.

Mount the inside edge first and push the glass down on the inside edge. now pull the glass out and sideways while pressing it onto the motor.

With any luck I've explained it in a way that makes sense.

I assume your question is how to replace the bulb in the side mirror. Can you please tell us the make and model of the car.?

You can buy after market mirrors a lot cheaper at a parts store. Or you could go to a auto salvage yard and get one

you will need to check to make sure no coins fell into the track and is jammed it if not you will need to replace the bottom frame of the seat possible with a junk yard one much cheaper than buying new and junkyard frames come complete.
