1995 geo tracker 4x4 w/manual hubs. trying to get to the front wheel bearings . got the hubs off, now this round locknut for the wheel bearing giving me **** they are round locknuts with two round holes where a socket with stubs would fit in to. the standard sets of hub sockets most all part stores carry do not fit .snap on dont have either
I have a 1995 Geo Tracker 4WD with the same exact problem,However I did some research . You will need to go to the Kent Moore Website which makes specialty tools and look up Wheel bearing socket "J-37763" I saw the picture of it and it looks like there are 4 small rounded teeth/tabs. Unfortunately get ready to spend some money - cost is about $70.00 not including shipping/handling
I hope that this Info. helps - Jim H.
Aftermarket tool is also available on ebay from several different machine shops. Occaisionally original tool becomes available but I picked up an almost complete Kent Moore tool kit, P/N J-37775, on ebay for $45 $20 shipping. If you use a hammer and chisel to re-install you will be replacing the bearings again real soon as they will not be tight enough.

I have the same problem with my 1995 Geo Tracker 4WD . I have the solution here.Go to the Kent Moore website and look up the wheel bearing socket "J-37763" BUT - get ready to spend some money cost is about $70.00 not including shipping. I saw the picture of it and I believe it has 4 small round teeth on the socket. You will need a good Torque wrench and a 1/2" Adapter to accomodate the specialty socket and when tightening this bearing nut or Spindle nut It has to be tightened to 155 ft. lbs. - well I hope this helped - Jim H.
You need the 1.97in spanner socket wrench. Only one place has it! etool

hey thanks. they do come off and have regular bearings to service and repack,i had it apart before,by using a punch and hammer. i hate beating the **** out of the nut specs show 180 ft pounds on tork if i can find the right tool for the job it would make life easier. looking on ebay aswell no luck yet
:) i solved the problem... i sold it, lol ...but yes i found and bought the tool from kentmorse it works really easy with that.
i loved the tracker but the frame rotted after so many winters here, and i see they or only tin frames:(
the engine and power train lives on in another tracker now,it ran great every day and sold it just under 200,000 miles. no leaks,no smoke purring like new still
i'll sell the socket plus shipping if any other tracker owners want one at a discounted price
i got mine on ebay just the other day put in axle nut and got a repair man with it
