I have a jaguar s type 3.0 se 2001.I have noticed the engine symbol on the instrument panel wil not go out.Also,the car starts and its like the car is only running on one side.When i rev up the car,it only lets me rev to 2000 revs and then there is like a cutting out,it wont rev up anymore than 2000 revs.Can you please help?

disconnect battery and join the leads together ,leave for half hour and try to start ,if it still will not start call the garage ,,,did you damage the transponder key reader around the ignition lock or forget to reconnect it ??
sounds like the code reader/dignostic equipment that has been used may have erased some or all of powertrain control module data.this did happen to me when the ids i was using became disconnected before it had finished clearing codes. had to recover the module by reprogramming as a new module only a jag dealer wil be able to do this has the complete car config.file has to reinstalled.
It sounds like the classic symptoms of air leaking into the engine after air flow sensor. check the hoses on top of the engine. Also spray detector spray around the inlet manifold this will get dragged into the engine at the leak and will make a noticeable affect on the engine note/smoothness. Leaks around the inlet manifold is quite a common fault on s type. see other posts with similar symptons earlier in jaguar fixya.

Hi stan, 3 and 4 just sound like a bulb remove the instriment pack and try two new bulbs. 2 is the one to think abount i think this is only one led bulb if you move the lever does the light flash, there is a setting for this D
my light wont go off.and wont let me rev past 2000 rpm
