There is a plastic pin inside the turn signal switch that due to poor engineering breaks off. In my 92 I used 5 min epoxy to glue the pin back on and reassembled my turn signal switch assembly saving myself $150-$200.00. This was 2 years ago and it's still working fine. My Rodeo will turn over 300,000 soon & runs great. 3.1 L. V6 is longest lasting engine I've owned!
It might be worth it to check all of your bulb sockets...I had similar problem in my 91 amigo - but my turn signal would flash very fast even though the bulb was fine.
I removed bulbs, checked all sockets & noticed that one had some rust/oxidation- obvious bad connection.
I sprayed it with some PB blaster (or use wd40 or silicone), wiped it out & replaced bulb. Solved the prob. Hope it works for u!
