Hey ernie, are you removing the coolant expansion tank? there is probably a spring clip located at the bottem of the expansion tank. pull the clip out. also the tank sits on top of a one-way valve, so be careful when pulling the tank up. if the tank is really stuck and does not won't to move and everything is disconnected, then put the cap on a few turns, and using a small prybar, place the bar on top of the core support and slowly pry the resevoir up. when installing a new resevoir, make sure to use vasoline to lube the hoses before sliding them back on, it make assembly much easier.

There should be a bolt holding the tank onto the body. It also slips into a hole to keep it secure. You have to also disconnect the power cable from the rear of it and it should just lift up.

My 2002 Altima is overheating. The radiator hose is hot. I am losing antifreeze from the overflow resorvoir. Do I need to replace the thermostat?

Start with the Thermostat and if that doesn't correct the problem replace the water pump. An Easy test since it is getting into mid spring is to just remove the thermostat and see if that corrects the problem. If it does, get a new one and put it in and your done, if it doesn't get a water pump and put that in and put the thermostat back.

I didn't see the washer pump under the shroud on my 1997 jeep cherokee? I saw the motor (wipers work fine) and the washer reserve signal switch. Where is the washer pump located?

Your washer pump and resorvoir are located inside the drivers fender. You may need to take off the wheel to have better acces but, you will need to remove the plastic fender trim and you will see the resorvoir located inside. The pumps are attached to the resorvoir.
