It starts up, idles, as soon as you put it into gear, it dies. I changed the fuel filter, and took off the catalytic convertor, so that's not the problem. I was able to drive around the block, but then it started dying again. Could this be a problem with the coil?

I think that I have fuel. You can run it at 2000 rpm's and it will stay running but it will cut out and drop down to about 800 rpm's. It runs good until it gets warm.... about 3 minutes then it will start missing and then it dies. If it is just idling it does not even miss. It just dies. How would I check to see if it has fire when it dies? I will greatly appreciate any help that you can give me. By the way...I changed the IAC valve and it still has the same problem.
Thanks again
I will try it when I can get back to the car. It belongs to my son and he is away at college. It will probably be a week or so before I can get back to check it out. When it dies it will start right back up, but, it just doesn't stay running. I will try it as soon as I can get back to the car though. I hope that I can still get in touch with you then.
Thanks for all of your help.....I REALLY APPRECIATE IT !!!!!!!
I replaced the MAF and it fixed the problem with the car dying. Now the scanner diagnosed a MAP sensor code. Is this anything to be concerned about? I did check for vacuum leaks and could not find any.
Will wait to hear.
Try taking air inlet off where it's attached to throttle body when it won't run, and open up the throttle plate & give a good spray of WD-40.( 2 or 3 seconds. It's like quick start. ) Let plate close & try to start. If it fires up for a second or 2, you have a fuel delivery problem. Maybe pump, but lets be sure.
First thing you need to do is find out if you have spark & fuel when it dies. One is probably missing when it dies, then go from there.
