This is happening 3 to 4 times a trip nowadays. Only happens when slowing down, coming to a stop, or on certain sharp turns. One mehcanic said it was probably the MAF sensor, but he couldn't get one after several attempts. Does this sound right, and howcan I find such a sensor and have it installed?
The sensor should be located after the air filter as part of the intake ducting. Looked it up at the AUTOZONE website. The price in my area is $41.00. Looks like 1 electrical connection, 1 hose, and 2 screws to replace it yourself.
There is a picture of the part on the web site. If you can use a screw driver I'm guessing you can do this yourself, If not the kid down the street could probably use to earn an extra $20.00 right about now. Way cheaper than a mechanic. Also some of the autoparts people will do this sort of thing after hours for a small "fee".
