Front end vibration road virbrations at speed 70-80 on my 1998 BMW 528i. Can feel it i the steering wheels, at my feet. Also sometimes it applies during braking at a stoplight. Tires are brand new Michelin last June 2012. All of the front and rear suspension have been replaced 2 year ago when i had the same issues, the brakes and pads replaced this past fall, re surface the rotors at the same time. Not sure what I should do, been reading and found it says to replace rotors. I have pre drilled performance rotors. Any tips you can give me as I really like to fix this issue.

I also wanted to add this are the originals wheels and tire size as factory. Had the tires rotated and balanced two months ago. Took back this morning to have them check tires, air pressure, suspension, brakes. Everything looks fine and the tire are perfect. When we replaced the suspension we did lower and upper control arms and the bushings. At this point been having this problem on and off for a couple years now and the problem keeps coming back?

You could have warped rotors or a brake caliper sticking. Have you rotated and balanced the tires lately?

What about the shock absorbers? Including the struts?
Stiff shocks will often create flat spots on tires over a period of time. Were these replaced?

SOURCE: pulsation in brake pedal and rear end hops during braking

What happens is if you have a bad front wheel bearing when you brake that wheel will turn in or out, when this happens it throws the four wheel alignment out and since this is a solid rear axle,it's forcing it to flex on the suspension, wich could cause the rear tires to bite on the outside edge of one tire and the inside edge of the other, thats one possible the other would be that the rear brakes are are not slowing the wheels evenly causing the same issue.I saw this problem with a bad front wheel bearing on a Nissan Pathfinder but not as pronouced due to the independent rear suspension. Check the front wheel bearings, which of course will mean getting the calipers off the rotors, and then check for any movement in the rotor,if there is check the hub nut,if it's loose tighten it and check for play in the rotor if there is still play that's going to be caused by a bad bearing. You can check the braking in the rear with a simple spring scale(like the ones used for fishing),with the wheels removed have someone apply enough pedal pressure to just engage the brakes but still allow movement attach the scale hook to a wheel stud and pull until it starts to move and note how many pounds of pressure it takes to move the hub.If it's uneven chech your adjusters and even them if needed and then retest,if still uneven you'll need to bleed them again. As far as the dark black substance in the fluid I would say you may gotten a contaminent in the fluid.Brake fluid gets kind of a rusty reddish residue when it breaks down.If I missed anything or you need clarification don't hesitate to ask I'm home all day.Hope this helps solve your problem.

I have a 2008 Infinity QX-56 and it shakes terribly when I apply the brakes when driving at highway speeds. It also feels like the suspension is bad when you go over a bump or hit a pot-hole.

Warped brake rotor usually cause high vibration at high speeds. But you can also feel it at lower speeds. But bad ball joints and tie rod end will cause vibration at high speeds. Ball joints will pop at pot holes, sometimes. Tie rods can be felt in the steering wheel at a stop. Move the wheel slightly to the left and right, you can feel/hear a tap as you turn it.

WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IT VIRBRATES

If you are turning the steering wheel all the way to the "lock" position, you are probably putting too much pressure on your power steering pump and you are most likely getting som drive-belt slippage.

Replaced the right front wheel bearing after pulling the old one it was bad, Tire store said it was not the tires that was causing the virbration, replaced pads and rotors now the virbration feels like...

Could be the inner cup of the cv shaft or the carrier bearing if your vehicle has a halfshaft before the cv axle. If your getting pedal pulsation it must be a bad rotor. Now it should only do it when brakes are applied. Ive seen cases where the pads are very new and the rotor is so warped it will pulsate abd vibrate even withouth applying brakes. Other possobilty is that spindle was damaged and warped/ bent while pressing in new hub bearing.

I get a grinding noise and slight vibrations that I can feel under my feet. This usually happens at low speeds, but has become more noticeable now at c. 30 mph.

You need wheel bearings.. One for sure maybe 2. Do you feel it in the steering wheel or floor? The floor usually means rear and the steering wheel usually means front. Hope this helps. It should change pitch when you drive left to right at a steady speed. :-) Cobra

i would suspect somewhere in your front end you have a compliance bushing with excessive movement. these cars front ends depend heavily on these style bushings, and as they wear you can start to see tire wear patterns, looseness in steering, and high speed vibration. make sure you have the front end inspected by a shop that is familier with these types of cars. good luck!

Had bad vibration in front end of car when brakes applied, installed new rotors and pads, still have slight vibration when brakes applied.

do u feel the vibration in the steering wheel or in the seat,i bet the most vibration was coming out of the front brakes and a little out of the rear brakes,u might want to change the rear brakes if the vibration is still annoying, also were the front wheels torqued to spec when installed?? if not u might end up with warped front brakes again, hope this helped

I have a BMW 3 series..318SE..03 reg..problems Im having

Per your description, I would take a look at your suspension components, tie-rod ends, steering rack mounts, ball joints and wheel bearings.
After the "wish bone" busings were replaced, was the car re-aligned? If the toe-in is not correct, it can cause the condition you describe.
Be very carful driving until you root cause the problem as you could easily loose control of the vehicle from a steering component failure.
Good luck, let me know.

Vibration

It sounds like a possible bad front wheel bearing they will make like a humming or growling noise. The pull could be air pressure a little lower in the right front tire than the left front check the air in all tires and if pull is still there take the left front put it on the right front and put the right front tire on the left front.Sometimes tires get what they call radial pull and that will fix it or make it go the other way if it goes the other way either get new tires or put the back tires on the front of the vehicle and put the front tires on the back.
