How do you get oil in to gearbox in a honda accord

most old cars have a speedo cable.
is the odometer dead too. (we need that answer now)

there are 3 class evolutionary systems.
cable
electric sender to cluster
and sender to PCM and PCM drives cluster.
but honda does this on diffr, dates than most cars. (i learned)

so lets do that. we login to alldata.com and look , so can you at any time,
once a month i do random cars.
what engine, sometimes this varies by engine, and trans.
neither stated so Ill toss coin each time.

has electronic (hall) speed sensor VSS and runs
engine, cruise. odometer and cluster.

the 96 has no speedo cable, and works in modern mode, very advance for this time
also any scan tool on earth fits the PCM scan port
and if VSS is dead, it tells you that with a DTC , vss dead.
saving all that work wondering why it dont work.

if only cluster fails, and both speedo and odometer then its bad.
if only speedo fails but not odometer , then speedo meter is bad.
its that easy.

One end is on the back of the speedo. The other on the gearbox near the drive shaft.

Do you still feel the same feedback from gear lever when you change gear or it appear loose? It looks like a gearbox problem, maybe due to low gearbox oil something has broken inside the gearbox.

according to my book,the speedo gear,on top of g/box,is used to check oil level.pull speedo cable out,youll c the oil level marks

VSS (vehicle speed sensor) electronic, located on the transaxle. The pic is from a 94 Accord, but it should be close to yours. It's not a great pic, but it should help you find the VSS.

Buy a repair manual. It should only be about 15 bucks and will save you a lot of grief now and in the future.

if youve found the starter motor there are 2 bolt diagnolly across from eeach other12mm from memory. if you cant find the starter look for where the gearbox meets the engine and follow the line

the speedo could be the sensor on the gearbox the lights not working could be the bulbs have blown

on my 95 accord my d4 light used to flash after driving for for an hour or 2 then the speedo would do strange things.so i changed the speed sensor relay [located on the gearbox] and solved the problem.
