I lost my keyless remote to my 2003 chevy mini van to unlock my door. When I use my duplicate key to open my door the alarm goes off. I bought another keyless remote for the key that I have to use for my van. I went to the GMC dealer to get the keyless remote re-program and the dealer can not re-program the keyless remote. They tried everything to get the keyless program and nothing seem to work. The alarm constantly goes off when I open the door and also when I insert it into the ignition. What can be the problem that they cannot program the keyless remote? I been at this dealer for 3 days and they said that I would have to replace the Body Control Modular (BCM). This is costly.

Make sure to check all doors, the trunk latch, and the hood to ensure that they are shut. I have looked up your 2006 Chevy Malibu and there has been a lot of people complaining about the alarm system and it going off. There is a TBS (Technical Service Bulletin) out for your car. The TBS says that the Faulty Door Sensor. Take it to your local dealership and tell him what I found for you and they should get you a quote on how much it would cost to repair it.
Thank you for using Fix Ya!

is the alarm after market ? and is so you need to replace it with another after market one .. now if the alarm is factory ?...you will need a remote control from the dealer and they will reprogram it for you

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS LOCK AND UNLOCK THE DRIVERS DOOR WITH THE KEY, THIS DEACTIVATES THE FACTORY ALARM SYSTEM, AND YES YOUR VAN DOES HAVE A SECURITY SYSTEM AND A TRANSPONDER KEY, IF THE PROBLEM CONTINUES YOU WILL NEED TO HAVE THE DEALER RECHECK THE WORK THEY DID, THEY HAVE TO PROGRAM THE MODULE FOR YOUR CARS SECURITY CODE, MAYBE THEY DID THAT WRONG, UNTIL THEY RETEST THE BCM THERE IS NO WAY WAY TO KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS HERE, THE BCM CONTROLS THE FACTORY SECURITY SYSTEM ON THIS VAN, SO ASSUME THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE NEW BCM'S PROGRAMMING...
