There are two tiny motors in each mirror. one for up/down. One for side to side. They have jack screws (plastic) that fit into the motors.
You can manually put your hands on either side of the mirror and force adjust it. If you hear a ratcheting sound, the jack screws are OK. Then repeat with hands on top and bottom.
If you hear ratcheting and mirror stays where you stop it, that means one of the motors is bad. The motor assembly is available as a separate part.

Removal and Installation

Disconnect battery ground cable. Refer to Section 14-01 .

Remove outside Rear View Mirror Glass as outlined.

Remove Outside Rear View Mirror as outlined.

Remove two screws from outside rear view mirror motor.

Remove outside rear view mirror housing from outside rear view mirror base.

Disconnect connector and remove outside rear view mirror motor from mirror housing.

To install, reverse Removal procedure.
