Question about 1995 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

My 1994 camry had a error message a month ago of po305. I changed plug, ignition coil and took out and cleaned the fuel injector. The error message went away. The check engine light came back on today and their is a message of po302. I switched the plug and ignition coil with the cylinder next to it and the error message is there(po302) there and runs like it is missing. I have to check out the injector next. It's strange that I got a error message exactly the same but on a different cylinder. Anybody know whatn is going on? The car has 338,000 miles on it. Anybody have a answer on this one and why these error messages are coming all of a sudden? It's strange that the injectors are having problems now(if that's what the problem is).

Check the resistance of the injectors. They should measure 14 ohms cold. Another check is to run the engine, and with a long screwdriver placed against each injector in turn, put your ear against the screwdriver handle to check if all injectors sound the same. Any one that is different is probably malfunctioning.

Still need the codes.
Injectors can go "bad" in a couple of different ways; all they are is an electromagneticaly controlled nozzle. When the ECU "fires" the injector, it pulses a ground circuit for 4-8 milliseconds, the electromagnet powers up, the valve at the bottom of the injector opens, and the fuel shoots out, under pressure. The wire can be bad/chafed/corodded/ The electromagnet may be weak. The nozzle may be stuck. Lots of things. But, to put in an injector for a number 4 cylinder misfire (p-0304 code) would be one of the last things that I would do.

First Dan these car s are very sensitive, you don't ned to go to the dealer go to you local auto-zone and have dem check the light its free. I could be a number of things but just for starters if you have more than 60,000 miles, it could mean you need oxygen sensor but don't guess have it checked and get back to me I will be more than glad to help. Good Luck. hey and leave me a rating.. thanks

My 1996 Taurus when I press the gas pedal when cold it sputters and lacks power. When it warms up it runs great.

Possible causes - Faulty spark plug 5
- Clogged or faulty fuel injector 5
- Faulty ignition coil 5
- Fuel injector 5 harness is open or shorted
- Fuel injector 5 circuit poor electrical connection
- Ignition coil 5 harness is open or shorted
- Ignition coil 5 circuit poor electrical connection
- Insufficient cylinder 5 compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Intake air leak

The P0305 code means that the cylinder 5 is misfiring or is randomly misfiring. Start by checking for intake leaks an if no leaks are found the next step is to replace the spark plugs on cylinder 5. If the problem persist more tests needs to be done to diagnose problem, see "Possible Causes

When is the code detected? Engine Cylinder 5 is Misfiring.

When a misfire occurs, engine speed will fluctuate. If the engine speed fluctuates enough to cause the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor signal to vary, the Engine Control Module (ECM) can determine that a misfire is occurring.

Why does 2003 kia sedona engine code po305 come on ?

this indicates a miss fire on cylinder #5. can be caused by bad plug, plug wire, ignition coil, fuel injector problem either dirty or electrical, vacuum leak at the intake runner, a compression problem.

Po305 error code

With that many miles, I would expect to find the injector as the issue. But it could also be a sticking valve. Or a valve that has problems opening as the oil gets hot. You may want to do a compression test hot and cold too.
