Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

My 2005 Odyssey navigation screen keeps saying please check disk, what could the problem be? I have already tried disconnecting the battery to reset it but it only resets my radio and ask for that code, it won't ask for my navigation code for some reason. I have also tried pressing the map, cancel, menu buttons at the same time and it does nothing. Please Help!

I want to add that I disconnected the battery again last night for like an hour and still radio will ask for code but navigation will not. I did notice that sometimes the navigation disk does not just come out when I hit the eject button, it will try to come out just a tiny bit then it will go back in, but after I hit the eject button several times it will come completely out. Why is this? I really just want to know do I need a new drive under seat or do I need a new up to date dvd disk?

SOURCE: I need to reset my

This will fix it. I just did mine. You do NOT need to pull out your stero to get the Serial Number.

If you lost the code, you may retrieve it from https://radio-navicode.honda.com/

SOURCE: Honda Odyssey dvd player not working after having battery jumped

If you disconnect your battery for an hour and then reconnect, the dvd will just pop right out. This happened to us, Honda did not know how to fix it and they wanted me to pay $400 for a new one. But while they were trying to figure it out they were sticking screwdrivers and pens into it and have now broken the whole system and refuse to pay for it.

Why doesn't 6-disk CD player accept CDs?

Could be loaded with CD's already. Or some use a Navigation disk and may not load until the Navigation disk is in place. Another Expert may have more to say about this.

Sounds like something inside the case did not pin correctly, check sockets and pins, a pin could be bent also use conductive grease at all connections

I have a 2005 mini cooper with build in dvd navigation. it's giving me a can't read disk error. I got a new disk and it's the same problem. how do i replace the navigation player and where do i get one...

You can try to disconnect the battery to the car for 5 minutes. This will reset all functions for the stereo. You will have to go to the dealership to get a new one. Or you can go buy an aftermarket one at any stereo shop.

2003 Accord. Navigation/radio/display system does not load.

I've reads post here suggesting disconnecting the battery for one hour. Couldn't hurt to try it.

Also try ejecting the Navi Disk, inspecting it for any damage, wait a few minutes and reinserting. The disk contains not only the navigation Database, but also part of the operating system.

DO NOT TRY INSERTING A OLDER NAVI DISK OR ONE FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE, THAT COULD DESTROY THE NAVI UNIT!!

If you need a new Honda Navi Disk, order it direct at https://www.hondanavi.com/Hondadvdsales/naviorder.php

Good Luck
