Okay you need to lift your trunk remove any carpeting remove hidden screws to undo light fixture be careful not to drop the case once case is in your hand remove the appropriate bulb that needs replacing after wards reinstall light housing/casing and screws good luck with this. SOURCE: 1989 Toyota Camry. No brake lights.

It could be the relay, which is a yellow box located under the carpeting in the trunk on the left side. It is a problem common to your model. Also, check the brake switch's (behind the brake pedal) functionality (12V present with key at ACC or ON and continuity between wires when button engaged).

How to change brake lights on my 2007 toyota yaris


on either side of the boot interior, there are what look like air vents. these clip out from the top (with a flat screwdriver) you then unbolt the light unit, pull it out. the bulb holder then unclips easily.
