The security light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

Were is my security system located at in my 2004 Mitsubishi Galant

It is integrated in your entire electrical system of your vehicle. the only way to bypass is to get an aftermarket alarm with a bypass module which will require an additional ignition key (which is inserted into the bypass module).

I have a 1998 Chevy Silverado & the security system keeps shuting the truck down. How can I bypass the security system?

This is a common problem in ALL GM vehicles. Bypassing is possible but not as easy you might think. The system is designed to prevent bypassing. This link has tons of info and the part you need to read most is under PERMENANT FIX http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

YOU CAN CRANK VECHICLE BY PUTTING KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH IN ON POSITION FOR 10 MINUTES UNTIL SECURITY LIGHT TURN ITSELF OFF.THEN TURN OFF IGNITION SWITCH FOR 5 SECONDS THEN START ENGINE.YOU CANT BYPASS THE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM BECAUSE ITS A FEATURE THAT CAME WITH TRUCK.THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM IS CONTROL BY BCM AND PCM. IF YOUR IGNITION KEYS AND SWITCH IS FAULTY ALSO THE BCM THEY ALL HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT DEALERSHIP AND REPROGRAMMED CANT BYPASS SYSTEM YOU HAVE TO GET IT FIXED.

It is ALOT cheaper to get the security fault repaired then to try to bypass the system. It is a veryyyy time consuming task and doesn't always work.

What is wrong with my VIPER 5706v remote start alarm installation? 2002 Hummer H1 How it has been connected. On the alarm harness 6 pin connector Connected pin #1,2,3,5 to corresponding ones on the car changing the polarity of the parking light on the alarm by changing fuse position to the positive position. On the 10 pin connector Connected pin # 2,5,9 together to constant wire on the car Connected pin # 10 to 1st ignition on the car Connected pin # 4 to 2nd ignition on the car Connected pin # 8 to accessory on the car Connected pin # 6 to starter key side Connected pin # 7 to starter car side On the 24 pin connector Connected pin # 13 to ground Connected pin #14 to the factory alarm disarm output. - FACTORY ALARM DISARM OUTPUT. We connected the - FACTORY ALARM DISARM OUTPUT through a relay to the - Factory Alarm Disarm wire. At the same time, using a relay and 2 diodes we have connected the Viper alarm - unlock output to the + door unlock wire and the - factory disarm wire, so the factory disarm wire is pulsed at the same time as the unlock wire. Connected pin # 20 to brake wire on the car Connected either pin 15 negative trigger or pin 18 positive trigger to door trigger out on the car Connected pin #22 via a relay to the wait to start glow plus light wire. The wiring diagram supplied by Direct Wire shows the Hummer H1 2002 with an Orange + wait to start wire, therefore the relay was used to reverse polarity. Connected pin #24 to the factory alarm arm wire. 3 pin connector door locks As the DirectWire wiring diagram shows the 2002 Hummer H1 having reverse polarity door lock system, we have used 2 relays Pin # 1 Pin # 3
