SOURCE: Horn wont honk. Fuse is good and horn honks when

In most cases this problem is caused by the rotating ribbon circuit contact under the steering wheel having a broken filament, the part is known as a clock spring contact, u will need to properly disarm the airbag and remove the steering wheel to access the part. WARNING: Failure to follow factory Airbag disarming protocol can result in an unexpected Airbag deployment and possible serious personnel injury or death.

2007 Ford Explorer horn quit working?

suggest checking if 12 volts goes to horn wire at horn end when horn pressed from inside vehicle. A 12 Volt probe {google it} can be a cheap checking tool for this.
If 12v volts is switched when button is pressed {could be earth being switched if it is then place probe on constant 12 volts and negative lead on switched earth wire} then the horn itself is faulty.
If no voltage switched then horn relay needs to be checked. check if voltage at horn relay coil contact when button pressed.
if yes then relay may be faulty. if no then horn switch could be faulty.
you can check switched voltage also at horn relay switched contact when relay plugged in. To see if relay is doing what it is meant to do

How can i figure out why the horn doesn't work on my dodge durnago

First thing to check is the fuse. Next I would check the horn itself by disconnecting to wires and bench test it with a 12 volt source. If both of those check out then you have a shorted wire or a cut/nicked wire and will have to trace that until you find where.

Horn dont work but rely clicks

That means that the relay is working but either the horn itself or wiring to the horn is bad. Check for 12 volts at the horn. If 12 volts is present and a ground is present, replace the horn assembly.

Audi 2006 A6 Squirter not working

Have your mechanic check for 12 volts to the horns when the horn button is depressed. If 12 volts are present, the horns are defective. If zero volts, check horn relay and check for bad connections.

hotwire the connection to 12 Volts to see if the horn is short or its a lack of power to the horn. commonly the connection in the steering wheel comes loose. you can mount a horn switch to the dash stealing 12 Volts from any source and ground it, be sure to use proper gauges wiring 10 or 12....

I believe there is a spring loaded contact for the horn relay wire which I think is the sourse of my problem other than how to get to it. I believe this is all located under the horn button in the steering...

if it has an airbag in steering wheel it is best left to a mechanic to do this. if the airbag pops out on you, you will be spending a lot of dollars to get it repacked. or if horn button is bad. you can run a wire from a 12 volt power source to a horn button under dash or wherever you want it. go from 12 volt source to button then to the horn itself. you can go to most auto parts stores and buy a horn button so you can mount it anywhere. in most states this is legal to pass inspection. just as long as you have a horn.

Horn does not work

Check fuse, if ok have somone use a volt meter while you depress the horn, and see if you are getting 12 volts, if you are not and the fuse is good, then it is the relay, if you have 12 volts to the horn wire, then the horn is bad.

Horn not working. Fuse is good. 2005 Jeep Wrangler. How do you remove the rubber cover on the sterring wheel to get at the horn.

May be bad horn. Get a 12 volt test light or multi-meter and attach to the horn wire at the horn. Have a helper press the horn. If you have 12 volts when it is pressed, horn itself is bad. Otherwise, may be bad horn relay. Horn cover should pull off.

95 range rover horns stopped working relay still clicking?fuse ok

If you have access to a volt meter turn it to dc volts and unplug the horn have some one activate horn while you check the volts. should have around 12volts. If you do its the horn itself.

Check the fuse for the horn.
Check the wires have not just come loose on the horn.
Next, if you have a volt meter, disconnect the horn, and connect the wire for the horn to the meter.
Have someone press the horn button.
If you have a reading of 12 volts or better, the horn is dead, if you have a reading of less than 12 volts, the the horn relay is likely faulty.
That is the item that is clicking as you reported. Just because it is clicking does not mean it is passing power through.

Hope this helps
