what i gathered its a shorted alt curcut but manual is stating generator field not switching properly, ( an open or shorted condition detected in generator field control circuit) are any lights on dash light up ?or codes?other than po622

Replace the alternator, check for loose or corroded connections. The late models are very sensitive because they are monitored by the computer now.
