yes it sounds like a solenoid,,but if this goes out it wont shift it all, i could be wrong,, try to explain.. theirs a cast alumn plate about 1 thick it bolts to the bottom of your transm,,,,for every gear their is a clyder with a shaft..in it operrated pressure,, now if you have a code on computer the engin light comes on. id say it is a solenoid... you can call the main company ask for repair..tell them and they will give u an opion..

it could also be the oil pan gasket, or the manifold gasket. if it's the manifold gasket, when you remove the manifold to replace it, take the time to clean out the mixing chamber. it'll be filled with gunk and cleaning will improve gas mileage.

I had the same problem on a recent trip to Mozambique.I found a very knowledgable mechanic in Komatipoort! He says it is always the left rear CV that works hardest when towing a heavy trailer / boat etc. A circlip works loose inside the diff...he repaired mine in less than an hour and it cost me R450-00 including the new oil! He also bent the new circlip slightly oval to prevent future occurances.
Do not drive like this for a long period without having it fixed.!
