Question about 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer

1 Answer

When i first got my mitsubishi lancer it would leak a little oil when the air con was turned right up, i was told this before i took it. Took it on a 3 hour trip on a hot day with air con going, down motorways ect parked up at my destination left about an hour later noticed a fair size puddle of oil had leaked in the time it was sitting. every now and again it would leak large amounts of oil last time i changed my oil after inspection i suspect it may be a crank seal prob udging from oil spray stains

SOURCE: 2000 Mitsubishi Galant, EA3A 2.4l motor. Oil leal

it could also be the oil pan gasket, or the manifold gasket. if it's the manifold gasket, when you remove the manifold to replace it, take the time to clean out the mixing chamber. it'll be filled with gunk and cleaning will improve gas mileage.

SOURCE: Oil leak on rear differential of Mitsubishi Pajero 3.5 2003 model

I had the same problem on a recent trip to Mozambique.I found a very knowledgable mechanic in Komatipoort! He says it is always the left rear CV that works hardest when towing a heavy trailer / boat etc. A circlip works loose inside the diff...he repaired mine in less than an hour and it cost me R450-00 including the new oil! He also bent the new circlip slightly oval to prevent future occurances.

Do not drive like this for a long period without having it fixed.!

I have a 2004 lancer . My air con works on cold, but than in an instant pumps hot air. I have had it re gassed and had the relay switch changed. What more can I do

it sounds like the ac compressor is on the fritz, you will probably have to get a new one then have the system vacuumed out completely and the recharged and oiled. it could also have a leak in the line some were.

When I start airconditioner in my Mitsubishi lancer 1999 model car, it slows the speed and affecting like a catching. What is the reason? How can I clear it?

I would get the engine checked. Not the air/con.The air/con takes about 2 horsepower so if your motor has a big drop in power when you turn it on.Check the motor tune.Hope this helps

I took my 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer to a local A/C shop , the mechanic told me the clutch will not engage unless we hit it while the engine and AC unit are both turned on.

On The Lancer 2.0L 98% Cases I ve had on this vehicle Was Resolved By Replacing The Field Coil On the Ac Compressor $98 only available online..
Or Thru Mitsubishi A Clutch Kit Replacement Would be Ideal But It Cost the same as a new compressor.. just be easy with ur current parts and replace the Magnetic Field Coil
