SOURCE: 2002 Impala: transmission limp mode...

Most transmissions have a limp mode, or limp-home mode.
If the driveline computer thinks there is something wrong, it can lock the transmission into one gear, such as 2nd gear. Usually reverse will also be available. The Impala automatic has 4 speeds. 2nd speed or gear will get you home, but the engine rpms can get a little high. I wouldn't get on the expressway will in limp mode.
Before taking to the shop, you might want to try and reset limp mode by turning the car off for a couple minutes, or you may have to disconnect and reconnect the battery.

I have a 2008 Atos. It won't start. According to the manual, if the engine with key light flashes for 5 seconds, the car is in limp home mode. How do I clear this limp mode?

you cannot unless you fix the reason for the limp mode
you can reset the ECM using a scan tool but if you don't fix the reason in the first place it will simply go back into limp mode
read the fault codes to find the reason as it can be either engine or transmission

I have ford focus xr5 turbo lv 2008 after service due the engine light comes up on the dashboard and some time flashing and when i press the accelator in drive doesn't go fast and don't get pick up ...? ?

Sounds like you have a serious engine malfunction and your ECU is putting vehicle in safe mode which is limp mode, no performance. You have to pull codes to see what the issue is, or if mechanical, look for loose hoses which is most likely the culprit which is sending signal to your ECU tripping limp mode.

I have a 2008 F-350 SD Diesel P/U I just had the transmission reprogrammed as per the recall. Now the reduced engine power (limp home mode) keeps coming on. Could this be relaited. What can I check, or...

Hello, Go back to the Dealer. The programming is not working for your truck the way it is set up. The Dealer needs to test the temperature of the Protocols for the limp home mode. Your truck is either running hotter than it should with the new Recall programming or the "limp home" feature needs new values to de-sensitize it.
