Battery charged wrong with neg on pos and pos on neg due to walmart putting red cover on neg side of battery. battery changed polarity... so when putting on cables must have damaged car. starter cranked...

Once a battery flips polarity, it's done. You need a new battery.

It's also likely that the starter was running backwards, which probably didn't cause any mechanical damage, but when you try to start it again, pay attention to any weird noises.

Hope that helps.

1993 buick roadmaster won't start. 12.6v at the battery, less than 10v on the dash voltmeter.

I should think that you tested the battery voltage with a multi meter and you would expect 12.6 volts . However if you test a battery use a load tester that simulates the battery under load as from a starter and you would find that the 12.6 volts drops to the red zone . have a load test done on the battery and you will probably find a faulty cell

My 99 altma will not do anything but click when the key is turned on any suggestions?

The relay is not the issue to start with

You need to know if your getting battery voltage
to the starter solenoid

You can put 12 v directly to the solenoid &
eliminate that & the starter first

Then you work on the most used items
Ignition sw
gear shift safety sw
etc
All the starter control circuit items

1993 lincoln Town Car wont start

On a car that old, I would suspect a corroded fusible
link, in the wiring harness

I don't have have referrence material to help you
locate those items.

You still have to start buy checking the battery & it's cables
No power to anything at all, your working your way from
the battery to fusible links & on to fuses,to see what you do have

Really need a wiring diagram,if your into that type of understanding
of electrical

It sounds like your alternator is not charging your battery properly. I would have that tested.
