Neutral Safety is still in question, I swapped relays with another to check that, small wire is good.. My mechanic buddy crawled under and checked the switch and I also tried neutral,, I was reading somewhere else and it said something about the ignition and something in there being plastic and that this has been problematic as well?????Thank you for your time.

I was driving and the car suddenly went dead. I'm getting no power to the ignition switch. No power to any of the gauges but the headlights still work. I have replaced the alternator and voltage regulator. when I turn the key nothing happens not a sound. I have checked all the fuses and all are fine. Any thoughts?

2004 avalanche master switch stopped working all at once. Checked for power to switch, good. Ordered a new switch, same result. Fuses are good and power is going to all the buttons, but the new and old switch do nothing. What else can I try?

Hi
It could be your neutral safety switch. It could be the starter relay which is located in the fuse panel box. It could be the smaller wire going to the starter could be loose or corroded.

    Hi

Try testing for power at the starter solenoid connection with gear shift in park and ignition switch turned to start position. Use test light. Also, try jumping starter connections from battery cable to solenoid connection to see if starter will turn. Please let me know.

2001 chevy tahoe want start i just replaced the starter and nothing happened

Probably should check to see if there is power going down threw the small wire on the starter solenoid when the key is turned to the start position, that be a good place to start. Double check the battery cables, make sure they are in good shape, clean and tight. If there is no power to the small wire on the starter solenoid, it may be the starter relay, or even an ignition switch.

If the ignition switch is faulty there will be no current flow to the starter motor so it will not turn over. I suspect you have a problem switch and I would look to replacing the keyed ignition mechanism.

I have a 2004 chevy malibu that want crank.I have check the fuel pressurer and it is good

I would start by checking all the fuses. Check your wires to your battery. If your turning the key and hearing nothing, probably a starter or battery. If it cranks, could be the ignition system.

Hello: When you turn the key to run does the lights on the dash light up? ie, alt/bat, check engine light, oil press light, air bag light if these and several other lights come on you may have a failed pass-lock system. A scanner can check for codes to that problem. If that is the problem the ignition lock cylinder will need replacing and programming.

Check the connections on the battery and where they connect to the engine/starter. Do you get any inside lights at all?
Check the voltage on the battery - should be 12 volts (engine off)

The ignition switch attached to the column is probally bad, check the small wire to the sloenoid for battery when the key is turned to the start postion, if no battery, your not getting power from the ignition switch to the starter solenoid.

Chevy tahoe won't turnover, power to everything, no clicking in starter to indicate that it is the starter, nothing happens when you turn the key? any sugg

have to make sure the starter is getting power. make sure the engine will turn over by putting a socket and ratchet on the crank bolt and turn it to the right. the two wires to the starter is battery the big one and the little one is for the ignition. ground test light check big wire, then have a friend key it up to check the little wire.
