Leak at fuel rail on volvo 960

take a lead from your battery .then reach under the inlet manifold. remove the 10mm bolt and copper washers one each side of that bolt. that is the feed line from your fuel rail to the cold start injector .now remove each of the ten mil bolts holding on your fuel rail . now remove the clips holding the injectors to your fuel rail. place some clothes under the fuel rail and lift off . care needed due to fuel wear eye protection due to fuel pressure..

Symptoms bad fuel injector,

If your fuel injection system has a fuel rail to deliver fuel to the injectors, you will have to remove it before you can remove the injectors.
First disconnect the fuel line at the end of the fuel rail. If there is another lune at the other end remove it too. (always be careful, some of these lines are under pressure).
Remove the screws or bolts which ever is holding the rail in place, if the wiring travels over the rail disconnect it first.
With everything disconnected, pull the rail away from the injectors. Most of the rails are just pressed on to the top of the injector tops, once you've removed the screws the rail should come off easily.
If your vehicle doesn't have a fuel rail then you have to disconnect the clips to each injector. Each injector will have a clip either at the top or at the top on the side that connects to the wire harness. Most fuel injector wiring plugs are held in place by a springy wir. To remove this wire, put a flat head screwdriver between the wire spring and the clip and CAREFULLY pull it away (don't loose it).
With everything off, you are are ready to remove the injectors (it is recommended that you use an injector puller) it is important that you don't break anything or let dirt and debri fall inside of the port wholes of the engine.
With the injector puller you just slide it under the injector and pop it right out.
To put the new injectors in just do the same as removing the in reverse. Remember to be careful and don't force anything.

I hope this helps for you.
Sorry if all thre pictures don't show.

Replacing plugs on 2003 Escort ZX2

Instructions1 Pop the hood and locate the fuel rail on the intake manifold. Connect the fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader valve at the end. Push the manual relief valve on the gauge to relieve the fuel pressure in the system.
2 Place a drain pan underneath the center of the engine, on the driver's side by the firewall. Locate the fuel filter, which is on the firewall on the driver's side, toward the backside of the engine.
3 Disconnect the fuel lines running to and from the fuel filter using the pliers and then unbolt the filter from its mounting bracket using the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Remove the old fuel filter and discard it.
4 Set the replacement fuel filter in place. Make sure the arrow on the filter is pointing toward the engine and away from the gas tank. Secure it in the fuel filter bracket using the ratchet and then reinstall the fuel lines using the pliers.
5 Start the engine and make sure everything is running correctly.
Thanks

Check the Fuel Pressure at the fuel rail with a gauge first

Before you start replacing a fuel pump make sure
the other systems on your car are working correctly

Spark Plugs
Old Gas Filter
Old Air Filter
Dirty MAF Sensor
Old O2 Sensors
Clogged Exhaust Converter
Vacuum Leaks

I just changed my manual transmission on my ford escort 2002 zx2. Went to start it and it turns over, but it is not getting fuel. I checked the fuel shut off, all fuses and relays and it still won't start....

on the end of the fuel rail is a vacumn operated valve that will only allow fuel through when it gets a vacumn ,is this pipe fitted ?? have you broke it whilst putting the gearbox in ,when you wiggle woggle the box to get the spigot shaft through the clutch and into the spigot beating
