SOURCE: 1996 buick LeSabre gas gauge not not working

It is either the fuse for the sensor has gone bad or the guage system is bad itself. Go for a scan.

SOURCE: 2001 Buick lesabre gas guage not working, heated seats not workin

I have a 2001 and just replaced the fuel pump assembly in the tank because the fuel gauge didn't work or worked irratic. After talking to the partsman it sounded like this was common. The contact for the sensor wears away and looses contact. You will see that the new fuel pump module has different type of metal wiper contact. As for the heated seats, I have an issue with driver side also and haven't had a chance to look into it yet.

SOURCE: locations of fuse boxes in a 2003 buick lesabre

If it is like the 2002, one is in the engine compartment near the jumping post. The other is under the back seat.

Have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes ! Would not restart ? When you turned the key to the start position does anything happen ?

Probably corrosion in connections from sensors to the dash circuit board. Could be components in the dash circuit board.

2000 lesabre gas gauge doesnt work

Before assuming it is the tank sending unit, test it. Take the wire off the tank sending unit, (make sure you don't have the pump wires), it should go to empty. Then ground it. When you do that the gauge should go to max. If not, then the gauge is faulty, not the sending unit.

I have a 2000 buick Le Sabre. gas gauge does not work properly. i filled the tank and the gas gauge reads full. and it works properly past half. then it starts flucturating. i disconnected the gas gauge...

There are three possibilities. The gauge could be defective. The instrument panel voltage regulator could be bad or not grounded or (most expensive) it might be the sending unit.

My gas meter doesnt tell the real gas amount. what do i do?

The fuel sender is part of the fuel pump module.the gas tank has to be removed and the module and fuel pump replaced..usually the gauge sender failure means the fuel pump failure is not far behind. On alot of GM vehicles, the fluctuating gauge will trigger the check engine light.
