If it is a recessed plug, you use a 1/2 in drive ratchet to turn it. Most models take standard 90 wt gear oil.

Brakes are out. Master looks ok. Can't find lines under engine to follow. no cheater book to ckeck with.

Master cyclinders never look OK. You have to fill em full of brake fluild ( all the way to the top) and pump the breaks lots and hard. recheck the fluild and if it went down look under the truck to see where it's coming out. If you can't find it look in the floor under the break pedal where the pedal rod goes though the floor. Fluild coming out here is a bad master cyclinder, if no leak is found put in still more fluild and pump till you find wher it's runnung out. if the fliuld stays full and the pedal goes all the way down the master is bad. Masters fail alot on older Isuzu trucks.

What type of transmission fluild do you use for a 2001 sunfire. Having a hardtime putting the car in reverse and then inti park

It uses Dexron II or III (you can use either) If fluid is full, DON'T add! Overfilling will do more damage, Depending on the mileage, I would change trans fluid and filter. It should be changed every 50k

What type off fluid in rearend of 2000 jeep

You have a choice of 75 90 or 75 140 gear oil. I'd opt for the 140 because It gives better film strength under loads. and there is no draw back to using it. If you have a positraction differential don't forget to put in posi additive.

Where is the fill plug on the rearend

Hi Mchlstafford,
The plug is located at about the 2 o'clock position if you view the rearend from the side the driveline is on. You will need a 3/8" drive ratchet and a short extension to remove the plug.If you need anything else, let me know. Thanks,Chuck

**** in power train or rearend

Most likely getting a little wear on the rear pinion, and you are experiencing the backlash from the gears. Put the vehicle in neutral (off) with the parking brake on and twist your drive shaft back and forth. There should be minimal play. If there is a bunch, you have a rearend rebuild in your near future.

Changing rearend oil 04Ford Explorer

ok, i did some research and there was a recall for this vehicle about putting the wrong fluid causing the gears to fail, if you replaced the fluids with this recall you are fine and just take the plug out and drain. check for the required fluid specs. i can help you with that later on.
if you didn't replaced the fluid , then you most likely have a worn set of gears and will recommend to take it to them to fix their initial failure " mistake "
