1989 VW Golf wont's start. Coil loses power, no spark

You are describing a bad ignition switch. These fail in such a way that the voltage to the ignition fails while in the crank position.

My car wont start after replacing water pomp i lost spark bu the way car came in runing with loud noies from water pump i do have puls at the injecters

Well, the old car still has a pulse, that\'s good. You need to be looking for the coil primary signal, when troubleshooting the ignition and you have no spark. Don\'t stop by asking here, buy a repair manual for your car or look for repair guides to help you do a step by step troubleshooting where you cover the whole process and don\'t miss anything. A repair manual will have the wiring diagram and pretty thorough troubleshooting guides for your Altima. Good place to start looking for where to find that coil primary wire going to coil pack, what color wire and which terminal in the connector it is. See? Makes it so much easier. As a self taught poor mechanic, I have lots of gaps in my knowledge of cars. So I never attempt any job like yours without a repair manual to consult.
Last question: did you put a new timing belt on too? I hope you did, if it is a timing belt driven water pump.
How the computer controls spark timing is after inputs from the crank position sensor and the cam position sensor, it computes the time to send a signal to ignition module to cut the coil primary circuit. That initiates high voltage in the coil secondary windings and right to the spark plug for a spark. So if you got no spark, you need to look at all these things in this paragraph-this is your ignition system, just add in the ignition switch for giggles, lol, and anything else I missed. But that\'s basically it. Do yourself a favor and buy a manual and a digital volt/ohm meter (DVOM), if you don\'t already have one. You can learn on it as you go. Good luck.

1995 ford 4.9 stright 6 runs for a couple min then dies

The parts you replaced don't typically fail due to heat/cold cycles. You need to see if it might be the ignition coil.Make the coil easily accessable(take of the engine cover).Have a 12v test light and some sort of spark tester handy.Start the engine, let it run until it quits.See if you have spark at the coil.If not, unplug the low voltage connector on the coil, and put the test light across the connector, and crank the engine. The light should flash on and off.If it does, replace the ignition coil. If it doesn't flash, you may have a bad crank sensor, but this usually won't make it shut off, instead,it will cause it not to restart after heat soaking for a couple minutes.(I'm betting on the igniton coil).

78 f250 died while driving slow and wont start. getting fuel, coil fireing didnt check rotor or plugs, spin it over try to give it trottle backfires out tailpipe

Three things to try:

1) replace ignition switch located in column
2) replace ignition control module on firewall
3) if those don't work, check the pick up coil in the distributor

hope that helps

1997 dodge dakota want start in morng finly get it to crank ran fine till shut it off now next morning want start

First check to see if you have spark at the sparkplug then if you have spark check your fuel pressure it should be between 44-54 psi with key on engine off also ,check fuel filter for restriction. If pressure is below 39 psi then replace fuel pump. But if you don't have spark at the plug then there is a ignition problem. ( coil, ignition coil pickup )

I'm not familiar with dodge but I know Ford's and GM's have ignition modules that go out and you lose spark.

Saab 95 1998 - wont start

The most common problem is the Direct ignition cassette, followed by the crankshaft position sensor. I am assuming that it cranks, but won't start.
