Question about 2005 Lincoln Navigator
After inserting the ignition key and starting the car, I realized my predicament with the shifter. I shut the car off and also cannot remove the key.

Look up at the top of the brake pedal under dash and you should see a switch hooked to the pedal with a LG/R and LG wire. You should have power on the LG/R wire then when you depress pedal it should have power on the LG then.
Another question does the 3rd or high mount brake lamp illuminate when pedal is depressed?

I've seen these have a pin fall out in the shaft that connects the lock cylinder to the ignition switch. It is pinned together where the steering column tilts and the pins fall out. Usually if you take the column apart the pin is still laying in the column.

SOURCE: stuck in park
manually move the brake switch you installed and have someone check if its comes on at the back...if not ..test for voltage at LG/RD wire- both terminal and wire- if no voltage = Fuse #10/ 20A , #20/ 7.5A, #22/ 20A at the CJB, if good test for voltage at the sockets- both terminal and wire- ......if you get BRAKE lights and still can't move the shift lever... look on the steering column at the SHIFT LOCK ACTUATOR and test that or replace it....hope this helps you..GL

Yes, I hown an 06' Lincoln and when you press the "unlock" button on the key for more then say 5 seconds, it opens the 2 front windows and the sunroof....I love this feature! But there is nothing wrong with your car...the button is simply getting pressed one way or another. My keys buttons are sensitive and it has gone off in my pocket!
