Sounds very much like a loose, or split pulley drive belt.
Open the bonnet and check, I am pretty sure this is where the problem lies.
You just need a new belt !

sounds like a shift solinoid is not responding or not receiving correct info
not 100 % sure but im almost certain that would be an internal transmission part not external.
i would ontact an automatic transmission specialist
