Question about Cars & Trucks
My pump is so loud that I can hear it 20 feet away, Does this sound like a bearing and if so can it be replaced or am I better off not messing with it. Other than the noise it works fine.

Yes there is a bearing in the AC clutch assembly, and the bearing can be changed with out swapping out for a whole new AC compressor unit or even taking the unit out.
The other thing to you may want to check is the Serpentine belt tensioner. The tensioner then to break apart and or when the clutch activate put's more pressure on the system and the idler pully bearing could alsy be the problem.
Spray some water on the fan belt whale the engine is running and see if the noise goes away and comes back as the water dry's. If the noise goes away then it's just a worn belt and need to be changed or you may want to do the quick fix and buy Fan belt dressing.
Good luck and hope this helps

There are to many things that can case your car the lose of power. Best thing to do is get the ECM scanned at Auto Zone for free, If there is no Auto Zone there most larger auto parts store can also scan the ECM and most garage now will scan for around $10.00 to $15.00.
You may want to change the Fuel Filter, a dirty fuel filter will restrict the fuel flow to the injectors making the engine run lean during boost causing miss fires and will burn up your spark plugs and worst the valves. If you do change the plugs, DO NOT REPLACE THEM WITH Platinum Plugs use a good set of copper plugs. the platnum's will heat up and glow causing detonation.
Good luck and hope this helps. keep me posted on how you do.

my best advice is not to replace your bearings on your own unless you know to do it perfectly.get an authorized service personnel to do it. since incorrect torque(tightening ) to the wheels may drastically affect your tyres, engine performance as well as your mileage.

SOURCE: whining noise in engine
Checking the level of the power steering is a good start. The pump is mechanical, driven by the serpentine belt, and cannot be turned off. Your steering may seem normal but if you let it go, low fluid can destroy the pump.

Hi i have 02 audi a4 slimline. on motorway going 70 mph and to past a car dropped it down to fourth gear probly hit 90mph. Drove for a further hour and a half, and hear a bang under car. car started to loose power. was drivable but hissing noise come out of it when accelerating. Feels like turbo not kicking in. Would this be that the turbo has blown of maybe burst pipe or something. If anyone can share a light on this i would be very greatful. Cheers
