SOURCE: Low oil pressure on 2001 Suburban

your oil sensor comes on at less than ten psi, you may have internal engine damage how many miles on engine, any gum up inside engine, you can try to put on a high pressure high volume melling oil pump to try to help for the time being, but you may need to have it torn and repaired.

Oil presure problem in 04 passat 1.8 litre hav cagedoil pump, pmp screen and pure switch where else can i go

Did you change the oil filter? Make sure you use the large one for the TDi. I had the same problem after replacing my oil pump and cleaning the pick up screen. Turns out it was just the synthetic oil washing the gunk out of the motor and quickly clogging the oil filter. You can verify the oil pump output by connecting an after market oil pressure gauge to the forward left top corner of the oil cooler/filter mount where you will find a removable screw giving you access to a port leading directly to the oil pump. It is awkward to remove then install a line to a pressure gauge but be glad it is at least there so you can verify output pressure. The fitting on the rearward side of the oil cooler/filter mount that has the turbo oil supply line is a good place to verify engine oil pressure with a gauge.
Change your filter first then do what I did and cut the old filter open to see all the junk that may be clogging your filter.

First check and see if the seal on the filter lines up right. Use your filter wrench to snug the filter a little extra. Try to put a manuel oil presure gauge on it. If this fails Im assuming having just rebuilt the engine you have a manuel. Check it out and find out where your oil pressure regulator is. Its probably sticking.

Hi Craig,
I'd suggest that the oil seal which seals between the torque converter neck and the gear box casing is damaged and will need replacing. The job seems simple but in fact can result in breaking the gearbox oil pump, when the torque converter is refitted to the gear box. the neck has to align with the gears inside the gear box and the oil pump, if the torque converter is not fitted correctly the damage I've mentioned will take place when refitting box.
If you would like to proceed let me know.

Passat 2006 2.0 tdi 140 engine won't start dash warning says either "engine fault, garage" or "low oil pressure".

Exhaust pressure sensor a possibility if it has a DPF (diesel particulate filter). Has it had its fuel pump recall, the oil pressure light could be just the constant cranking and running the battery low.

Low oil pressure light comes on and goes off

the noise is the chain tensioner in the cylinder head between the two camshafts. it is a job for a proffesional shop. the 1.8t passats had an oiling problem and were fixed with a larger oil filter. some times you have to remove the oilpan and replace the oil pickup tube.
