SOURCE: where r the wheel bearings

you would need to take the wheel off... then the caliper... you will see the shaft that comes thru from the front drive shaft... the bearing is what the shaft goes thru... there should be a cover over it... it's a press fit... you'll need a puller to take it out.

SOURCE: Steering wheel vibration and whine noise from rear of car

Yes, and it probably is your wheel bearing. Hearing a sound like a chain dragging is classic. You may also hear a clicking noise or chain dragging noise when turning to the left or right.

Look under the car and see if the rubber boots that surround the axle near the tires are cracked and leaking grease. If so, it is almost a certainty that the bearings are bad as you have lost grease and thus lubrication to the bearings.

Good luck,

Could be the bearings in your alternator have gone dry and your alternator is about to quit out on you. I had a friend with an 01 altima and we could always hear him coming before we saw him because of this very problem. Changed the alternator out and noise went away. Thanks for using FixYa!

Problem may not be at the wheel but maybe something going on with the steering linkage, tie rods, or suspension part.

My 2001 Nissan Altima has a squeeking sound coming from the drivers side wheel. It only squeeks when the car is moving. And I don't think it squeeks when I use the brakes. What could be causing it to...

You will need to pull the wheel off and inspect the brakes. Spray some brake fluid cleaner on the rotor and disc area to clean the brake dust off. Next, have the wheel bearing checked and replaced, a bad wheel bearing would cause your wheel to squeak.

Im hearing loud roaring noise from front left wheel while driving in my 2000 nissan sunny

It's a noisy wheel bearing and is usually relatively cheap to fix, but not a DIY job unless you have experience.

You need to get it fixed without delay, left to it's own devices it will cause more damage and in extreme cases can cause the wheel to break away.

I'm pretty sure they're pressed,so you need to either replace the hub assemby or press the bearing out using a hydralic press.

It may be the bearing. located underneath the wheel rotor on the wheel axle. Lift up the car and remove the wheel, brake pads and rotor. remove the rotor and turn the nut that holds to axle in place by removing a small pin. (if there is one) and turning counter clockwise. you will see the bearing under the rotor. Check for missing bearings , dirty oil debris, etc. If it has any of this , replace with new bearing. The exact way you removed it. Do not overtighten the nut. This will cause the bearing to overheat. just tighten enough for the bearing to fit snug with no movement.Make sure you grease up the new bearing good.
