Why does my handbrake light stay on ?

If it has no effect on nothing and your brakes are fine I would not worry about it . You may have a slight short in the wiring that goes to the emergency brake .

Hi, my parents own a 2003 toyota corolla verso. They don't have an automatic lights switch and are constantly leaving the lights on! They can't hear the alarm either when they take the key out of the...

im 65, when i do that. id turn in my key for the duration.
in fact if id did that, it be far worse not just lights.
your not going to hack the alarm module, id bet
but my guess is you drain the battery
and guess what there is a device that prevents this.
its a battery tender, that mounts to the battery and if the battery
discharges to X amount the battery is disconnected autotmatically

but on newer cars, it will cause
NAV system to go dead ,asking for CODEs
RADIO , ditto
Transmission goes to RELEARN mode.
Security system goes nuts.
Immoblizer goes nuts.

there is no perfect system. if you use this device
there may be side issues.....

now the buzzer!
buy a SPARE dash warning buzzer module for your car from toy dealer. match yours.
then take it, to any electroncs. repair shop.
and ask them to remove the internal buzzer. and add
a huge Sonic Alert to the out side, (hot glue it on....)
they will do that, and it can be very load.

here is a 100DB noise maker, its very load.
and the vast choices..

noise makers are and endless, topic, even Klaxton horns.
like a diving submarine.

Check the switch under the handbrake lever, it may be out of alignment or broken or it may have a wire shorting out which is causing the dash light to stay on.

Abs and handbrake icons light at the same time

If the E-brake light is in fact the light that is on. Then you need to find the switch that is attached to the lever. That switch isn't opening when you release the brake lever. Grounding that wire turns the light on. So either the wire is grounded or the switch is broken or out of adjustment.

there is normaly a connector under your seat for the airbag light just unclip it clean it with a wire brush or scourer then connect it back up. this should work. the handbrake light means a fault in braking system i would get that checked out at a garage.
