Question about Cars & Trucks
Is okay to mix green and orange coolant.that is 50/50.the car is a 1997 saturn sc2.the manual called for the dex-cool orange.but all i had was the green antifreeze.would this be a problem.
As long as the bottle says it is okay than it is, but in the future i would suggest keeping fluids in your vehicle's trunk or another readily accessible place, these would include oil, trans fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant just in case

SOURCE: what color antifreeze
I like to keep dex cool in a gm and not mixing it. you can but it is hard to tell if it is dirty later down the road because of the color it makes when you mix it.

The manufacturer states the type of antifreeze your engine is designed to use ... if you use the incorrect type, expect major corrosion and other damage to occur. Look in the owners manual for specific direction. Another place to get good word on this topic is from the sales clerk at your local auto parts supplier.
