Two things to check, there is to be no voltage at the small terminal at the starter solenoid , if there is the starter switch is faulty , removed all cables from the solenoid , use a ohms meter to check across the two big terminals, must be open circuit , if not the solenoid is faulty.

Not sure what you mean by bypass the starter motor? It's attached as the top diagram. On the starter the red cable goes to it an a ground from the alternator. There is also a purple wire attached.

If your car has an automatic gearbox, move the selector lever through the full range on movement. Then attempt to start in Neutral or park. There is a switch in the gearbox that will prevent the engine from turning over when in any gear other than "Park" or "Neutral".

watch the lights on your dash.. if all the lights except the theft system go off then it has to do with your ignition.. they are a couple hundred to have installed here in Bama.. I took my dash apart and when I have a lot of problems I leave it open some so I can wiggle the wires on the bottom side of the ignition.. a cheaper thing would be call the chevy dealer and have them make you a new key from your vin.. and keep it weight free.. after they have some wear on them they do not work as well.. they fit kind of like a puzzle piece in the ignition and on one of the peaks on the key when it hits a certain place in the ignition switch it activates the " I OWN THIS CAR, SO CRANK" mode.. In my personal opinion they should have a recall on the dang things because the buyers are getting ripped off having to replace the ****.. For some reason though, a lot of the OEM wiring connections on GM's are faulty.. I still love my chevy though! Hope this helps!

sometimes the new fuel pump goes bad, it does happen, if you disconnect the fuel line @ engine and hold it in a can or bottle, have an assistant crank engine, but do not start it, if you have gas coming out, your pump is working, careful , it will come out fast !!!!!!!!!!!! have a rag ready. now you can move on to find the real problem.

I've changed the alternater,starter, voltages

Troubleshoot first and then change parts! What was the original problem? It just won't crank over? The alternator just charges the battery the voltage regulator keeps from putting too much of a charge into the battery. Was the battery going dead? Did the vehicle start when jumping it with jumper cables? Too many unanswered questions to offer help, sorry.

Hello. My 1997 Chevy Tahoe refuses to start. The problems began with a bad fuel pump. I changed. It worked. The fuel pump died again. I changed it again and it has been working. I parked it for two weeks....

Now you have a good battery & a starter that turns over the motor

Have you cycled the key on & off with a fuel pressure gauge on the
fuel rail?

Do you have a fuel filter that isn't over 3 or 4 years old?

Have you checked for spark while cranking ? Use an old plug on the wires,
if you have ignition wires, don't ground the wire without resistance

If you removed the ducting & MAF Sensor it won't start

Tell us what you checked & exactly how that was done.
