Is it normal for a toyota yaris to leak water from the exhorst

Yes, when starting from cold. This will go on for about 10 min or so. If it is spitting water when hot, That would be an indication of a leaky head gasket or a leaky inlet manifold gasket.

Does it overheat? If not the head gaskets should be OK. You can get a test for combustion gases in the coolant, it is a simple procedure. If that is negative, and you are not losing much coolant, don't worry any further.

How much will it cost to repair a leaking head gasket on a 2000 ford focus se?

Header gaskets are fairly expensive to replace. It depends on the labor rates of the repair facility. I would try to find a local community college that has an automotive degree program. Usually they will charge much less for the fix (to help students learn) than a garage. If that isn't an option I would replace the head gasket and not the whole engine. Of course, if there is other damaged caused by the leaky gasket that is another story. There is a lot of labor involved with replacing a header gasket. I would say anywhere from $500 to $1000 anyway. Hope this helps.

Head gasket or lower intake gasket on 98 Blazer

this does sound like a head problem (hopefully just the gasket). pulling the head with the exhaust manifold attached is possible but tricky and difficult. risking the bolt and drilling it out if it snaps would be alot easier. I would strongly suggest having the head checked while its off (so you dont rebuild to find that you wasted time and money on a bad head)

Leaky head gasket

Not that uncommon on those 2.5L engines. Thje permanent fix is to replace the head gasket. Be sure and check cylinder head and the engine block deck for straightness to ensure a good seal with the new head gasket.

Have you checked the oil filler cap for what appears to be traces of "mayonnaise"? Are you slowly losing coolant? You may have a leaky head gasket.

My acura just had a thermostat replace, but the car still will run hot. and it starts to smoke. What could be the problem?

A leaking cylinder head gasket could be the problem. Have a cylinder compression test done to see if the cylinder head gasket is leaking. another way to check if the head gasket is leaking is to use a combustion gas leak tester like the Lisle 75500. It looks for exhaust gas that escapes through a leaky head gasket into the cooling system.

Over heating and trouble idleing

Could be faulty Thermostat/ Leaky head gasket or bad water pump.. Check the oil pan for any antifreeze,if its OK the do a compression test on the cylinders to check the head gasket, and replace the Thermostat if its defective. and check for any antifreeze leaks on the ground. Good luck bro

Does head gasket make car over heat and does the blown headgasket seal will fix problem

head gasket problems can cause leakage of antifreeze into the exhaust through the cylinders and low antifreeze levels can cause an overheat problem due to a leaky head gasket.

A leaky water pump can do the same thing except you'll see a puddle of antifreeze from the o-ring not sealing right.

Blown head gasket seal can help with minor defects in the head gasket seal but not major leaks.

It may be worth the cost to try a head gasket seal solution before replacing the head gasket which is a major procedure.

The code reads misfire on cylinders 2 & 4

Are you losing coolants and having to add? are you getting white smoke from your tail pipe? if your having any of this you might have a leaky head gasket, make sure you check everything because if it is the head gasket you need to have it replace as soon as possible before it gets so hot that it damages the head.
