On a car over 15 years old the odds are the wiper motor failed
You need wiring diagrams to work on electrical
You have to see what is in the circuit you need resolved
No one can tell you how to diagnose things, you follow a procedure that work for you
Don't change any parts
That is not how you work on a car Learn how things work & test to confirm failure
Your not going to have relay failures as you read about on these sites, too much bad info talked up on here
A fuse will blow if the motor or any motor fails,so that could be a key do not replace a fuse,go to what it controls such a the motor & try unpluging it & use the wiring diagrams to put power to it
Hi guys I have a 09 f150 I replaced the combination switch for the wiper system and the wiper motor and I'm not getting any wipers. Checked all the grounds and fuses and can't find an issue can anyone please help?
the 89 may have a wiper control module that needs to be replaced... how many wires connect to the wiper motor? if more than two the module is built in. if only two then the module is re,ote mounted and probally under the drivers side dashboard
sounds like a loose nut. there are nuts that hold the wiper arms on, they may be under a cover but theyre at the base of the wiper arm. also there's a nut that holds the wiper linkage onto the wiper motor. if you can move the wipers independently, it's the nuts connecting the wiper arms.if you move one arm and the other moves with it, it's the nut holding the linkage to the motor.
probably the nylon gear inside the wiper motor broke. Some are serviceable, some are not. If you want a used one go to car-part.com and look on page with asterisk for lowest cost.
For new gear (If serviceable) call tascafordparts.com for a discounted part.
Look into the cowl grille at the base of the windshield and watch to see if the linkages are moving back and forth. If not, it is the motor or gear inside the motor.
