SOURCE: o2 sensor location

DTC P0156 indicates the output voltage of the downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) is less than some calibratable functional window. The possible causes are:

  1. Pinched, shorted and/or corroded wiring and pins.
  2. Crossed sensor wires
  3. Exhaust leaks.
  4. Contaminated HO2S.
  5. Bad HO2S.
Since you didnt specify the engine size in your vehicle - please see the diagram below for the location of the sensor(s)

The O2 sensors are not connected through any relays. What is the problem that you are trying to solve. I do not believe the diagrams can assist you with O2 problems but I have included them. Please elaborate on your problem and I'm sure I can direct you to a solution.

1998 Toyota Vista Ardeo - runs well until engine is warm, engine sounds like it is missing and loosing power, if you accellerate engine comes back to full power and runs well, has had scan tool on, shows...

Scan tool or code reader ?

Are the O2 Sensors really old? Like 80,000
miles or more?

Most likely rich & the computer is taking out fuel & you
get a lean fuel trim or whatever your looking at.

Look at misfire counts after you drive it hot for 5 or 10 miles

Try getting the egr unplugged etc to stop the possibility of a lean
misfire on a road test.

Take a fuel pressure gauge along for a ride tied to a wiper to
get fuel pressure eliminated.

You will need a scope to really check O2 Sensors & TPS
back at home etc

Good Day, I was looking at a 1998 Toyota Ardeo Vista. It has done 112,000K but was surprised to hear the engine making a different noise. The mechanic said that was normal for the ardeo d4 vista engines...

if its making any sort of metalic knocking noise then leave well alone ,could have been run out of oil or coolant hence funny noise and someone is trying to pass it on as it blow up before long and they dont want to get stuck with paying out on it

Im confused my car is a toyota camry 6cyl not 4cyl and some say it has 4 o2 sensors and others say it has 2, hum, wich is it???? please help and also is there a site where it shows me like a diagram as to...

I have no diagram, but there is what they call upstream, and down stream locations.Upstream,is above the cat-converter,the down stream is below the cat-converter.This would be per-side.You have a left, and a right exhaust manifold. The exhaust pipes run from each manifold(left and right)to the catalytic converters. So you would have to have on the left side a up stream o2 sensor, above the catalytic converter.and a down stream o2 sensor, below the catalytic converter.this would also be on the right side also, this would be the total of four(4) o2 sensors.I hope this is helpful.
