The right side of the car are where the belts are located. Start by checking their tension and inspecting them for cracks and/or glazing, this would be a sign of slippage. Older belts are not as pliable and will stiffen significantly after cooling, causing a squeel. While the belts are off, spin the pulleys of the alternator, power steering pump, water pump and AC compressor clutch. They should all spin freely with very little to no resistance and no noticeable bearing noise. If there is a 'grinding' feel to any of them as you spin them, it's possible that particular component is failing and causing the belts to slip.
