Possibly transmission is overheating and car is going into 'limp mode' because of your high speed. I would check with dealer on this one to see if computer needs a 'flash' update?

When you say battery light does it look like a lightning bolt with backwards parenthesis on either side kind of like this )\( . If so that is the reduced power light to let you know there is a problem with the electronic throttle system. Have the computer checked for codes and go from there.

What causes check engine light, and when pressing gas car only goes maximum 30 mph?

The light means that your engine management system feels something is wrong. The next step is to pull the error codes from the computer and follow that indication. It is fairly major, in terms of importance, for the engine to have output limitations. (30 mph is not fast enough, I presume...)
