Question about 2003 Mazda Protege

Open Question

Purple and Green Fuel Injectors

I had a mechanic replace an injector. He handed me my original part which is (Purple) and put in a Green one. Now I have 3 green and 1 Purple. I am wondering if there is a difference between the color of the injectors? and what are the potential problems I could face if the wrong color was put in the place?

SOURCE: Mazda BT 50 3.0L injector problems

i don't think there is any problem with injectors but the cause could be pump
just loosen the pump bolts a little bit so that you can move the pump with leverage to advance
check the heater plugs as well

Try accelerating at different speeds, for example push pedal further down, or ease into it real slow & let it climb, and see if it still dies at 2000 rpm, just to see if pedal position makes any difference to see if maybe TP sensor has bad spot.

My 91 s10 4x4 4.3 turns over no start has spark good fuel presure but no fuel coming out of injectors pore case down carb.wants to run. Had bad i.c.m. but replaced with good one .and new computer

If voltage to fuel injectors but no ground, have to check ignition module. The purple wire with white tracer carries rpm signal from distributor to computer, engine cranking, dc pulse on that wire, if nothing, check ignition module. W/o rpm signal, the computer won't ground fuel injectors.

My 1995 corvette coupe will not start; it has gasoline, a good battery and turns over good but the engine will not fire; when it does (on occassion) the engine is rough running and will die. The optic...

Check your voltage to the fuel injectors. Also check to see if the fuel injectors need cleaning.First, put your fuel pressure gauge on the shrader valve on the end of the right fuel rail. You should have 35-42 psi and it should hold up for a long time with the ignition turned off. The signal to the injectors is a pulse to ground on the green/blk wire of each injector. The black wire on the injector goes to 12v. Get a noid light at a parts store and see if your injectors are being pulsed during cranking. If not, first check both injector fuses with an ohmeter, they see a lot better than you do. If you have a pulse and fuel pressure and still no starting, you have contaminated gasoline. Engines that start on starting fluid have no gasoline/air mix in the intake due to no gas, or no injecting.Even a cheap $5 multi-meter will work for you.
Check for +12 volts at the black wire of each injector connector or check continunity between all of them and then for +12V.

Check for continunity between the green/black wire and at the ECM connector. Take the connector off the ECM to get at the pin. Also disconnect the neg battery cable before doing this one.

After removing the fuel injectors and rail to remove the manifold, how do you reinstall the fuel injectors?

the same way you took it apart. put a little grease around the rubber seals so they will slide in easier. just tap on the fuel rail while lightly tapping it into place.

Chevy S-10 Start problems

If hall effect switch was bad you wouldn't get any spark. What year 2.5L is this?Is this a 2 injector Throttle Body? The pink wire on top of injectors comes thru a 20Amp fuse controlled by the Ignition switch you should have battery voltage with key on The dark green and dark blue wires come from the pcm which are called injector drivers the drivers supply a pulsating ground if you crank the engine with a test light between either pink/dk green or pink/dk blue test light should flash dimmlythat would mean injectors are being driven but there isn't any fuel at the injector or the injectors are bad no pulse means either a bad computer ( which these drivers are known for going bad)or the computer isn't being commanded to fire the injectors.

Fuel system shot, must remove top part of engine, costly, $1,200.00new system

MMmm plastic what injectors .. you might need to remove the fuel rail and intake plenum to work ... but theres nothing plastic down below the manifold... if the wrong amount of fuel in an OBD2 car or truck burns too much fuel the oxygen sensor reads it and the computer automatically cuts or leans fuel to the motor through the injectors for the green people .=)

If you put larger injectors in the engine without the proper fuel management then all you are going to do is run rich and get horrible gas mileage. The only way you will need larger injectors is if you have forced induction or a full motor high compression build.
