A spring/wire hanging from the undercarriage directly under the drivers side

It's directly under the drivers side and it is almost to the ground. It looks like it's almost a spring with something else attached.

SOURCE: sheet of metal hanging down form undercarriage

If you are referring to the front of the car there is a splash pan, designed to keep road spray out of the engine compartment.
and sometimes service people think it was engineered
with two many screws,or they vibrated out.
just replace screws.

if this is not the front of the car please re-post question with more information
hope this helped

Where is the gas tank ground wire for 1995 ford explorer

Not exactly sure when you say "in gas tank". There are 2 seperate grounds for the fuel pump/sending unit inside the fuel tank. The ground for the fuel pump is located under the left hand (drivers) side of the instrument panel behind the kick panel. The ground for the sending unit is located on the left hand (drivers) side of the engine compartment near the radiator. Sorry I don't have any pictures and I hope this helps....

I'm working on a 97' Oldsmobile Siloutte. I thought that I was having an issue with the fuel pump so I changed it. However, it turns out that the old fuel pump wasn't defective. It's...

The PCM does not supply the voltage to the fuel pump . All the PCM does is energize the fuel pump relay ,closing contacts in side the relay which connects the fuel pump with a B+ voltage supply from Fuel pump fuse 15amp location , under hood fuse box . You have a high resistance problem in the wiring to the fuel pump . bad connection , corrosion etc... Mastering Voltage Drop Testing with Pete Meier and Jerry Truglia

I put a new grill on my 1998 gmc Sierra and when I put the headlights back on and tested them out all the power is directed to the passenger side lights and the other side is dim!! Also when I turn my left...

The first thing i would check is the ground, check the driverside lights ground wire, this wire is bolted on the same side you will need to look around that area for that ground or run a new ground wire to the lights and see if that does it, as far as the wipers turnning on this may be due to the ground problem, i would first locate the light problem and go from there, check the connection for both the lights.

Need an undercarriage protection for our 2003 chevy blazer - cant find one!

There are any number of commercial protection products available over the counter.. of any auto part store, or online.

In my own humble opinion... Your best protection is regular washing with clean water, and some WD40 on all unpainted surfaces. Any coating you put on will eventually trap moisture and contaminants under it, causing corrosion faster.
Easy way to prevent undercarriage rust is to power wash the entire undercarrage, then spray the entire undercarriage with WD-40 before the onset of winter.

WD-40 displaces water, helping to keep rust under control. Suprisingly, it doesn't come off as easily as you'd think in wet winter driving.
Use use two medium size cans of WD-40 to do all undercarriage, making sure to spray every nook and cranny (but avoiding the brake rotors/pads) until it is saturated.

Believe it or not, one good coating will last all winter--at least enough to prevent rust. Each spring, use a high pressure sprayer to clean the undercarriage and reapply a new coat of WD-40 for the spring/summer/fall months.
