Yes . the copper tubes are part of the heater core and will go with the unit

Steam coming out the cabin vents


do the heater copper water pipes go through the firewall of the engine bay ?
or are they connected via rubber hoses through the fire wall.
If so it could be a rubber hose.
if the core is leaking you have to pull the whole dash apart to get at it. It is a big job to do.

I have not found instructions on how to remove the instrument panel
you may need to purchase service manual or figure it out by trial and error . Watch out if airbags involved disconnect any air bags first .

Bypass heater core


jus us a piece of usually half inch copper pipe n disconnect BOTH hoses from heater core and hook them both on each end of copper pipe or whatever u can find that will fit ID of heater hoses...plastic pipe is good too for this...heater core leak?...a good radiator sealer will fix this usually but you must have the heat on full for the solution can travel through the heater core...itmight still leak for awhile n then stop...if not, put some more radiator sealer in...always use the powered aluminum sealer...

OK if heat no blowing out just cool air #1 check your engine coolant level add if needed to res bottle and radiator, (wait until engine is cool to the touch before opening the radiator cap under pressure when hot!)#2 if good on coolant and your engine is getting to normal opperating temp as always you may have a clogged heater core, if so you can test the heater core flow by removing the to heater hoses mounted at fire wall in your engine compartment and with a garden hose at low volume push water through one of the two copper hoses coming out of your fire wall if the entering amount of water is coming out the other copper pipe then your heater core is good.#3 then if all the above is good and working your dealing with a blend door not operating properly inside your heater box located under your dash (not for the non experience to repair)

You would have to either disconnect the two hoses that are on the firewall that enter the heate-core and return hose and some how attempt to connect the two, I do not believe there is a way to do this without complete replacement of the components.

Describe how to bypass a heater core in a 97 Dodge Dakota plz.


Easiest way to bypass a heater core is to disconnect both inlet and outlet hoses at the engine firewall. Install a right angle hose coupling in each hose. Then install a straight piece of hose to connect the two hoses.

Water leaking out engine near front fire wall


Sounds like one of the connections to the heater core are leaking. Should be hoses connecting to the metal heater core pipes. The heater core is on the inside of the car with metal pipes going through the firewall to heater hoses.

Your heater core has gone bad and needs to be replaced, If you go to Auto Zone you can pick up a new heater core and they will have the step by step instructions to doing the job yourself. If your lucky, may be the radiator hose to the heater core has failed at the cores pipes and it's only the hose that needs to be replaced but thinking not. You can get by pass the heater core for now so you can still get around till you pick up the new Heater core. Follow the two hose that goes to the fire wall and disconnect both of them from the pipe from the firewall, then with a pipe and two clamps, connect the two hose together and that's how you by pass the heater core. use a short length of 15mm copper pipe and join the heater pipes together where ther connect to teh heater feed pipes in the engine compartment

How to change a heater core


Once you pull the dash out and get the old core out. If you have a copper one take a tubing cutter and cut the tubes in half that go through the firewall.Grt yourself two half inch copper couplers.Run the two pieces through the fire wall then drop the core in place connect then solder. If aluminum similar cut then flare both ends then connect with rubber heating hose and clamps and away you go. Then you don't have to disconnect air conditioning.
