How do I replace the license plate lights?

I have a 2008 Equinox and it was a hassle to do on mine. The manual talks about removing 2 screws from the outside to remove the cover on each bulb. I was unable to get the old bulbs out. I then removed the plastic molding from the inside and the light sockets twist and pull out. The bulbs are easy to remove and replace then. The plastic panel inside just snaps out at several places. I had to loosen the back wiper motor
to get to one of them.

How to replace head lamp?

Replacing the headlamp on your Hyundai resembles replacing a light bulb. Open the hood and just behind the headlamp, you will see a hard plastic cover. Twist the cover to open, allowing access to the bracket that is holding the existing bulb in place. Once you've access to the bracket, you will see it forms a loop. Squeeze the loop together to get it to disengage from the headlamp housing. The headlamp should be easily removed by hand at this point. Replace the bad bulb with it's replacement (try not to over handle the new bulb and handle around it's base whenever possible) and place the housing back into it's corresponding hole. Now reattach the bracket, (again you will need to squeeze it together). Once the bracket it again attached (bulb + housing should be secure, if not repeat last steps until it is tight) replace the hard plastic cover and you're done. Best of luck and thank you for using Fixya!

How do you replace drive indecator light

1. Lift the little carpet in the console rear to the automatic gear shift. Pry with a small flat screwdriver will do the job.2. Remove the three Philips head screws.3. Remove one Philips head screws on each side of the rear console, they are located at the bottom front of the rear console panel. You may have to move the driver and passenger seat back to see the screws.4. Grab the back of the rear console and gently wiggle, pull backward and lift upward. Pull the hand brake so it is easier to remove the loosened rear console panel. 5. Use a flat head screwdriver to pry the rectangular 'cushion' around the automatic gear shift. Gently pry at various spot and the rectangular 'cushion' will come off easily.6. Now you are just one more plastic cover away from the burned bulb. The plastic cover that has those 'P'ark, 'R'everse, 'D'rive letters is held in place by four snap on latches. Use a small flat head screwdriver and gently push the black latches inward in a downward motion, once the screwdriver head gets inside the grey latch holder it will free the black latch. Work on each of the four latches in turn.7. Wiggle the plastic cover until it is completely loosened from the four latches. Gently lift the plastic cover up. The automatic gear shift will stop the plastic from being lifted out completely. You still have enough room to work with. You will see the little burned bulb directly below those 'P'ark, 'R'everse, 'D'rive letters. Gently pull the bulb out. I got my replacement bulb at Canadian Tire, Motomaster instrument replacement bulb 194LL (clear, long lasting, 2 bulbs for $2.99Cdn). It is a push-on bulb.8. Test the bulb by starting your car and dash lights.9. Snap back the plastic 'P'ark, 'D'rive cover. Put back the rear console panel and finally the rectangular 'cushion' around the automatic gear shift.

How to replace light bulbs in a Jerdon Tri-fold makeup mirror

In order to replace bulbs, look at the back of the mirror. There will be four white circle coverings hiding the screw heads, and these must be drilled open in order to access the screws that hold the two halves of the mirror together (these coverings will not have to be replaced). Once these screws are located and unscrewed, flip the mirror back over and remove the top half. Carefully, replace the bulbs.

How do i get to the dome light for repair?

The plastic dome lights generally just 'clip' into the headliner (maybe a couple screws). If you removed the clear plastic lens, there may be a couple screws holding it in as well. If you are just replacing a bulb removing the clear plastic lens will be sufficient as you can then remove the old bulb and replace it. A how to on how to do this should be in the owners manual.

Hope this helps.

Switch turned on map light but will not turn light back off. Need to know how to take button out to repair

Problem might be that one end of the spring sits on a small black piece of plastic which has popped out of position. I have NOT tried to actually fix the problem, yet, but just removed the bulb so that the battery doesn't drain.
3 screws need to be removed to see the black piece:
  1. With a very-thin, flat screwdriver CAREFULLY pry the lens-cover off; I don't suggest trying this if you can't do it gently since you might crack the cover. If you then look upward in the center of the uncovered area, you will see the screw that needs to be removed.
  2. Drop down the "sun-glasses compartment" and you will see the remaining 2 screws that need to be removed.
Finally, carefully disconnect at least 1 of the electrical harnesses.

You should see the small, black plastic piece in its correct position on the properly functioning light switch.

Good Luck!

How to replace light bulb on a clock 2004 Honda Odessey

Here are the steps:

1. Undo the panels to the left and right of the steering column.
2. Remove the panel that encloses the instrument cluster.
3. Replace the light bulb located on the back of the panel (removed in step 2).
4. Reinstall the instrument panel (removed in step 2).
5. Reinstall the panels on the left and right of the steering column.

Here are the details:

FIRST - Disconnect the battery. Be careful to locate the radio security code and radio station memory locations before you disconnect though. I chose to disconnect the ground (black wire) from the battery. Be careful to put the cable away from the battery terminal.

Step 1: Undo the panels to the left and right of the steering column.
a. Put on your parking break. You'll want to prevent the car from moving because you will soon put the car in gear.
b. Put your keys and turn to the starting position (but don't try to start the car). This allows the gear lever to move.
c. Move the gear shift to lowest gear. This puts the gear shift lever to a place nearly out of the way of the panel so that you can pry it out.
d. Using bare hands, pull smartly on the plastic edge closest to the steering wheel. Pry out the panels by hand as they are both held by tabs. This is hardest to do the first time. Keep in mind that these are pieces of plastic, so be careful. Once panels are out, let them dangle. You only need access to the instrument panel screws.

Step 2: Remove the panel that encloses the instrument cluster.
e. Remove the 8 screws that keep the instrument cluster panel in place.
o Two on left of steering wheel
o Two on top of instrument cluster (upside-down)
o Four on right side of steering wheel
f. Wiggle/pry out the instrument cluster panel. Be careful as the center is held in stronger than the sides. In addition to screws, there are different tabs that assist in holding this in place.
g. Before removing the instrument cluster panel, disconnect the clock and emergency light electrical connectors. While the clock connector disconnects easily, the emergency light has a locking tab that needs to be pushed in to disconnect. I used a small screwdriver to push in the tab to get the connector to disconnect.
h. Remove the instrument panel. Turn it over and locate the clock's protective cover.
i. Open the clock's protective cover by loosening the tabs. Be very gentle to these tabs.
j. Once the cover is removed locate the light bulb.

Step 3: Replace the light bulb located on the back of the panel (removed in step 2).
k. Unscrew the light bulb and remove.
l. Install the new light bulb. Check the light bulb before you install it. Be careful when rotating the new light bulb. in place. I've read in other posts that the light bulbs are VERY sensitive. I used a small screwdriver with plastic on the head to screw the light bulb. in.
m. Replace the clock's protective cover.
o. Reconnect the clock and emergency light's electrical connectors.

Step 4. Reinstall the instrument panel (removed in step 2).
p. Fit the instrument cluster panel back into it's original position. Be careful with the fan vents. I suggest aligning the fan vents first, then fitting the panel.
q. Screw in the 8 screws that keep the instrument cluster panel in place.

Step 5. Reinstall the panels on the left and right of the steering column.
r. Push both panels back into place.
s. Move the gear shift lever back to park.
t. Remove the car key.
u. [Optional - disengage the parking brake]

LAST - Reconnect the battery.

TEST - Reinsert your keys and turn them to the starting position (but don't start the car). The clock light should light up.

Note: Because the power has been reset, you will need to enter the factory stereo code and reset your radio stations.
