If the fuel cap is missing or was not tightened properly, could cause this code p0455

There's also a pressure sensor in the fuel tank which is used to monitor pressure in the fuel tank when the engine computer performs periodic EVAP system checks. If this sensor is not working properly, it could also cause P0455 to set.

Another possible cause of p0455 is the PCSV (Purge Control Solenoid Valve). If it's stuck closed, the ECM will set P0455

There you go, just click on your year and the clutch kit. You can always call your local auto store and ask them to price it for you.
Thanks,

SOURCE: Clutch replacement details for 1996 legacy GTB

Trust me it is quite an excercise and not worth doing yourself. With the proper tools, a hoist and a my mate who is a Guru Subaru Mech it took 4 hours. Without having done it before and without the Hoist ( which is wha I was going to do initially ) I'd say you wouldn't get much change out of 8 - 12 hours.

SOURCE: how easy is it to replace a noisy clutch thrust

The thrust bearing is normally a part of a new clutch kit.Comprises pressure plate, clutch plate and thrust bearing. You will need to remove the gear box to change the bearing. The bearing basically slides onto the gearbox shaft. Recommend changing all three rather than just the beaing. You may want to get quotes from garages as dealers are expensive.

SOURCE: transmision .

I do believe that is the Mitsubishi, I agree that the Library would be your best bet. the haynes manual I am looking at doesn't go into detail however. You may need to get a Bentley manual.

The clutch, now there's a good question. the real question is.... Do you want to pull it again after all this work... Ya didn't think so.. the parts rill run around 220 for pressure plate, and disc. Replace the slave cylinder also as they love to fail..

I can add this hint. If you are on the ground doing this, to replace the tranny use two tie down straps across the frame and under the tranny lift with a jack but support with the straps. this makes lining it up a breeze and if a 4WD you can even attach the transfer case and rear mount.. made it super easy for me... I did it by myself in under an hour..but I was stupid first I replace the slave cylinder then a year later the pressure plate. I then replaced the slave cylinder a second time... Hey 40 bucks was cheap...

What causes that sound coming from the clutch side like that of a worn sprocket gear when you trail at low speed.

Hi,it could be that your thrust bearing is whereing out,its the bearing that when you put your foot on the clutch pedle it connects with the presure plate that lets the clutch plate have movement to spin, like aney bearing can where out, unless clutch is ferly new you should replace the free parts,
clutch-plate
pressure-plate
thrust-bearing(release-bearing)
but of coures only if it gets worse
hope this was some help.

Cluch operatng shaft leaver chage vw

are you refering to the clutch fork that connects to the other end of the clutch cable, you will have to drop the gear box as this fork sits over the clutch pressure plate ,and pushes the thrust bearing against the pressure plate tynes so disengages the drive from engine to gearbox, while you've got the box out check the condition of the clutch parts ie thrust bearing, pressure plate spring's,friction plate condition

check fluid in clutch master cylinder is it low?
it could have leaking slave cylinder on gear box bell housing or your clutch needs replacing, gear box out and replace clutch as a kit, pressure plate, clutch plate, thrust bearing (comes as kit) but dont forget to check and or replace the spigot bearing in the rear of the crank shaft when doing clutch kit.

Manual transmission re-submit

IT is possible that the transmission was damaged during clutch replacement. IF the box didn't slip home easily but was pulled into place with the flange bolts the damage would be in the clutch plate but it may have put pressure in the input shaft and bearing. The jumping out of gear is indicative of a misaligned gear box to bell housing situation Undo all the flange bolts and check that there is nothing caught between the faces of the box and housing . Re-tension going around the bell housing tightening each bolt a bit at a time . Check that the flange face and the bell housing are together all the way round.5 th gear is in effect outside the gear box proper and is inside the extension housing and is remote from the problem if the box is properly aligned . If misaligned then the wobble in the input shaft will wobble the output shaft which will work the 5th gear out of mesh

I can not put my car into reverse with out 'crunching'. Also it can be hard to put it into gear when stationery but when i driving there is no problem. Could it be the thrust bearing?

If clutch is not adjustable then more likely to be pressure plate springs and thrust bearing(combination of both)replace whole clutch at one time.saves time later.....

1997 RAV 5th gear drops into neutral when gas throttle is released

If it only drops out on the over run only then its due to either the selector ball and spring on the selector shaft (spring gone weak )., or 5th gear scrinco worn out and needs replacing or the spigot shaft (input shaft) bearing worn allowing the shaft to move forward 3mm on over run, or a worn clutch plate can help cause the same problem.
THE ANSWER IS gear box out ,strip out and rebuild and both bearings on spigot shaft, and check clutch plate springs for wear.
