Test the alternator, see the diagram attached. God bless you
dies when put in gear - 32153cb2-e0c2-4641-b7e1-91d51188afca.jpg
Sympton: Battery slowly goes dead, but ammeter sometimes shows a positive charge.
This is usually a bad diode in the alternator, less often a bad regulator. There may also be a high current draw from some components, overwhelming the alternator capacity. With the ignition switch on but the engine off, turn things on, one at a time. Check the ammeter for an indication of excessive current draw.

SOURCE: wont start

Have you tried to charge that battery? If you have and get the same result check your battery terminals for corrosion. If they are fine your battery may have failed.

SOURCE: 2001 grand prix starts and then dies right away

Check the fuel pump inline resistor located on the right side front fender between the frame and the windshield washer fluid canister. When this resistor goes bad those are the symptoms.

My 2002 kia sedona won't idle until warms up, dies when put into gear ...any ideas??

Is the check engine light on? you could have a bad ignition fail sensor, TPS sensor, or bad o2 sensor. it could also be a bad mass air flow sensor or a vacuum leak. without a code to help pin point the problem I'd start by checking those things first. Maybe try unplugging the mass airflow sensor and start it up and see if anything changes.

Sounds like a vacuam leak, best thing to use is cold start spray, by spraying the vacuam lines with this you will notice a change in the idle wherever the leak is at.

Those two problems probably arent the issue.

Check to make sure the fuel pressure is correct.
You may have a bad fuel filter, bad fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator.

Those need to be checked
